Looked bad on TV, maybe goto full time refs and sideline crews and get people not in their 60s

Maybe they could do what we used to do in high school. Guys on the JV would have chain duty for the Varsity games.

I guess this would mean guys on the practice squad ...

I will give a little insight on how these guys get these "jobs". I did it at the college level for a short time. Just like when I officiated high school football, you are an independent contractor. The guy that got hurt gets paid by the NFL but is not an employee of the NFL.

When I went to the dome to officiate a high school championship, I got a tour with a guy that run the clock at Saints games. He told me how it works there. This guy that got hurt probably officiates high school in the New Orleans area. They are usually older guys because they are typically able to be off on Sundays.

So the NFL may pay his dr bills, but not obligated too.

Usually when players run into the sideline crew they keep it moving to the next play. AK acknowledged him & kept looking back.

He knew it was a bad & unfortunate collision.
