Changing of the guard? (1 Viewer)

Interesting how one missed field goal switches it to "How can the Saints make changes to beat the Falcons this time?" from "How can the Falcons figure out a way to beat the Saints?"

Drew's two picks and Turner's 114 yards wouldn't even get mentioned if Hartley hits that field goal.

best part is we dont need to change a gosh darn thing.

We go out and execute our offense like we know we can and this game will be remembered well into the playoffs.

exactly. We don't have to change anything, nada. We have the greatest guys on this team you could wish for. It just happens that they make mistakes here and there, happens everywhere and it's very fixable.

No whats interesting is how a miffed punt that luckily hit the back heel of one of our players, and your defenders did a Cirque-de-solei move to keep the ball in-bounds even gave the Saints the opportunity to attempt that field goal.

All everyone seems to remember is Hartley's missed FG, but nobody seems to remember the Punt that led to all that.

Those still are not mentioned. Of the two picks, did they score off either of them?

I do believe you mean a muffed punt that sloppily hit your player in the heel that our players alertly saved from going out of bounds and regain possession of the ball for the attempted field goal. Demonstrating, once again, how well prepared and coached our players are in the minutiae of the game.

All I know is that was the only time we punted in the game. We forced you to punt 4 times and turn it over on downs.

The facts are, had Drew not thrown some insane and very uncharacteristic picks we beat you by multiple TD's. Your porous defense just could not stop us, all game long.

And that was shorthanded, off a short week West Coast trip, etc. And we still needed a missed FG to get here.

But be cheerful, the stars are bound to align in your favor every blue moon and you guys losing 6 of the 7 preceding that game made us due for a loss.

Just don't count on it tonight.. And now it is the Saints who are due for an "a" game (arguably we haven't played on all year). And deep down, you know that if we bring our "a" you lose by multiple TD's (even with your "a" game) regardless of whether we play in NO, ATL, or switzerland.

That's why you are here on our board, and why we aren't meekly seeking validation on yours.

The point Im making is that strange luck went BOTH WAYS that game. You are as much at fault for being "lucky" as we were.

I feel ya bro... You guys out played us that game and we dug deep into the heart of a champion to find a way to win but missed the chip shot...

Keep in mind, we didn't have one of our most dynamic weapons in bush and we didn't have Sharper and a bunch of young guys getting settled into things like Ivory, Graham and.
Jenkins... These guys are playing at a very high level and this isn't the same team that was banged up with a SUPERBOWL hang over that you played in week 3....

Lastly, you guys were desperate last time, going for it on 4th down many times including twice in the SECOND qtr while in field goal range... This time, we're going to be the team that pulls out the stops.

Yep! We just really need to eliminate the dumb mistakes. Had we not made those in the first game we beat them convincingly i think. Bottom line, we play like we are able, and we eliminate the mistakes we should win tonight. Bring the A game fellas!!!
