Christopher Nolan’s next film will be an adaptation of the Odyessy (7 Viewers)

Matt Damon plays one character in every film I've seen with him. He's plays that one character very well, but that character is far from Odysseus, way too understated. Odysseues is a bigger than life hero and Matt Damon does not give that vibe in anything I've ever seen, including the various Jason Bourne films. Bourne is a "bad-arse," but he's also very understated in his manner. Odysseus flies off the handle and rages many times in the book. I don't see Damon as someone who is able to do that convincingly. He could surprise me, but it definitely will be a surprise.
I have to say the same for Tom Holland. He's my favourite Peter Parker, but any other movie I've seen with him, he played Peter Parker again.
Anne Hathaway. Again, plays her one character very well, but haven't seen her in anything where she extended her range. I don't see her one character fitting Greek mythology.
Zendaya I just don't get. She's not much of an actress.
Charlize Theron overacts in every film I've ever seen her. It always seems forced.
Robert Pattinson, meh.
Lupita N'yongo might work, though. She has range and has played different characters without coming off as the same character like many of the aforementioned.
Ok we disagree across the board here so I’ll dip
(You’re most wrong about Zendaya fwiw)
Ok now I’ll dip

I can’t wait to see Jason Bourne as Odysseus.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess (and there is nothing wrong with that).

I disagree with pretty much all of these statements.

most people who have seen that movie don't know that it's based on the Odessey.
John Goodman played the Cyclops well.
Got to sleep, little baby!! Got to sleep little baby!! Those three hot singing actresses playing the "sirens" that lured the three fugitives off the road, got them so distracted that they lost track of their mission of getting home was iconic.

John Goodman played an excellent Cyclops but if one is truly familiar with Homer's Odyssey, the way the storyline plots out compared to the epic is very different. I mean in Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus and his men do a master-class in manipulating, fooling and downright making that Cyclops in that cave come across like the biggest idiot in the story and Cyclops when he was still screaming later on, blind and enraged after realizing Odysseus robbed him well...senseless was still yelling at Poseidon that "Nobody stole from me" until Odysseus screamed at him who he was while sailing away. In O'Brother, Where Art Thou, Goodman's Cyclops is a lot more ruthless, vicious and 5-10x more cunning and intelligent then those three chain-gang escapees.

Still, as memorable as that movie was and remains, it doesn't become the box-office success and cultural milestone it does without George Clooney. He's the main character but also the glue that keeps it running and interesting and frankly, I'm hard-pressed to think of any A-list actor back then or now who couldve pulled if off as masterfully as he did.
