Can we just make a rule that when Covid threads come up we just discuss the ramifications for the team/NFL and not bring our own personal opinions into the thread?? It does nothing but derail what could be informative discussions. Anyone else agree??

It's a hopeless cause. There is a faction that believes that Covid is a deadly, debilitating disease. And there's another faction that believes that it's little more than the common cold. And those two groups are never going to agree on what should be done about it.

As for vaccines, there is a group that thinks that they are worthless unless they are sterilizing, which the Covid vaccine is not. I think that the vaccine has been mismessaged, in terms of the fact that it does not prevent breakthrough cases and it doesn't completely stop transmission. However, it has been outstanding in doing its real job of preventing severe disease and therefore keeping people out of the hospital, off ventilators, and from dying. The current numbers bear this out as many places today have more covid cases than any time in the pandemic, and yet the hospitalization and death rates are much lower. That's the impact of the vaccine.

I see that the doctors are starting to remessage in terms of stating get vaccinated and then stop worrying about Covid. If you get it as a vaccinated person, such as CSP, it'll be a asymptomatic or mild case, getting over it, and getting on with life. However, with unvaccinated persons, all bets are off.

So, IMO, Covid is both overblown, for the vaccinated, and understated for the unvaccinated.

But never the two shall meet. So, that's where we are now.

Exactly why we should just leave it. We are here to talk about football....not talk about whether or not the virus that killed my cousin is even real or not.

You’re extremely lucky then. I can think of 5 off the top of my head and 2 of of them
were in their 30s
