I just rewatched the game for the 3rd time. Yeah Yeah I know, it's only week 7 and trust me my wife has had enough, but anyway. I focused on that catch by Colston on 3rd and 4 and he literally was trying to squeeze the air out of the football as he secured the catch. The defender tried to knock it out of his hands and they were like vice grips. I Love Colston and I hope Brees and Payton's faith in him at that juncture of the game helps him get it going this season. I had sensed that after the fumble last season against Atlanta in the season opener he was starting to lose confidence and that fire, because he seemed to be kind of just going through the motions. After that catch the long embrace by Brees brought tears to my eyes(only because I had something in my eye). Who Dat!!!!!

On that same series, Colston also had a grab for a first down that was negated by an illegal shift. I was worried about picking up the first down after that. That series:
1st and 10 - Khiry run - no gain
2nd and 10 - Colston 11 yard reception - PENALTY on NO-W.Snead, Illegal Shift
2nd and 15 - Snead reception for 11 yards
3rd and 4 - Colston reception for 20 yards

Nice grab by Colston as the defender had his arm in there trying to jar it loose.

Yeah Colston saved a late comeback by the Colts with that catch..reminded me of the old Colston we all great to love. Maybe he was trying to make up for that INT in the endzone and the other crucial drop he had earlier in the game. Colston is my all-time fave Saints receivers but lately he has had more negative plays than positive.

I've been wondering what could be his problem. Drops don't usually come with old age. I wonder if his eye sight is getting weaker with age and he's just not seeing the ball as well.

During our game against Philly, one of the commenters mentioned something Randy Moss said: As a WR, one of the first things you start to lose as you get older is your hand-eye coordination. Explains a lot.

Presbyopia does not happen in your 30s.

Colston helped us close this one out. Im extremely confident our D would rise to the occasion. What a strange feeling to be confident in the D. To that point Indy had done nothing outside of the two Breaux slips.

Lot of film study here, but check it out

I feel that Colston has been suffering from a lack of confidence. For so many years he was the go to receiver and he and Brees had this unbelievable connection. Then comes Jimmy Graham and I don't believe Colston was concerned with numbers, but when Brees began to trust Graham more than Colston I believe it had a negative effect. Fast forward to last season, when Colston fumbled that ball and blew the game against Atlanta he seemed to never recover. Maybe it's just euphoria from our win, but I really see that catch Sunday by Colston as a turning point for him and hopefully our whole receiving corps.
