Corona Drinking Thread (renamed) (8 Viewers)

We've all been there...am I right?

Side story....my brother owns 2 restaurants. One is attached to a brewery. It would piss him off when I went there and drank miller lite and asked to substitute his house dressing for ranch on salads. I know what's good...can't help it. 😂

I am drinking some very good red wine tonight.
It was 67 degrees yesterday and now it's 24 outside. I leave for FL on Monday, there are heavy flurries in the forecast about 6 hours after I depart. Peace out Wisconsin.
Warm and rainy here today but clearing overnight. Going out in the morning with my daughter for youth deer season....her last one. She turns 18 next year so will not get this early crack at them again after this season unless it's with a bow. She has a boyfriend she spends almost all her time with so this dad/daughter time is pretty special this year.

No deer for us...we did have a 6 point come in to around 40 yards but never gave her a clear shot through the trees so she let him walk. It's about a lot more than the hunting for us really. It was a great weekend hanging out with her and I'm going to miss that when she goes off to college next year.

Everyone has cut back it seems
I drink very seldom these days.
I wouldn't go that far....I still hold my own. I just take some breaks. Mostly out of boredom. I just get bored drinking by myself and my wife rarely drinks so I save it for when I'm around a buddy or two.

Mine has more to do with health reasons and the fact that I get hungover from the smallest amount of alcohol.

Over thanksgiving I only had alcohol on one occasion which was the Friday after - my family went to a whiskey tasting. I had 5 small samples of my own, 2 of my aunt’s that she didn’t drink bc she hates whiskey & an old fashioned that I didn’t finish. I was pretty drunk from just that.

After that, we went to a party at some friends house and I had stopped drinking & had lots of water and food. I still slept like crap. I wasn’t hungover the next day, as in no headache or feeling nauseous or anything but felt crappy from the lack of sleep because I never sleep well when I’ve been drinking. My body just can’t tolerate it as I get older and especially now that I’m eating the healthiest I ever have in my life.

I have sort of figured out a hack though. When I do decide to drink, I’ll take a Xanax before I go to sleep (save the lectures; I know you’re not supposed to take it with alcohol) and it helps me get solid sleep so I don’t feel bad the next day. I think not sleeping well or enough after a night of drinking is one of the leading contributors to me getting hangovers.

I'm exactly the opposite. I sleep way better when I've been drinking haha. When I first started drinking bourbon/coke I would have wicked hangovers but that kinda went away and I actually feel worse after drinking beer. That was worrying to me also and why I started taking breaks. My wife has also had a string of liver failure patients and makes sure to tell me how rough they have it. 😂 That I don't really care about because we all gotta go some way. Liver failure is not near the top of the list on how I want to go though. Not very pretty.
