This has always been a fun thread getting to know our current Saints while also reminiscing about players of the past. I was hoping someone else would take the lead on this but now that we are a few days in I'll go ahead and get it started. Everyone feel free to keep it going and comment on your favorite Saints players past and present as their number comes up. It's exciting to know we are now inside 100 days to kick off the 2024 Saints season. I'm taking the liberty of plagiarizing the work of John Sigler of Saints Wire with a bit of research and input of my own.

Without further delay here we go!

June 3rd, 2024 - Number 97 - Khristian Boyd

Countdown to Kickoff, Day 97: Khristian Boyd is the Saints Player of the Day

1717443803930.png

Khristian Boyd is your New Orleans Saints Player of Day 97 as we count down to kickoff for the 2024 season. The rookie defensive tackle has a great opportunity in front of him, but before we get to that, let’s get to know him a little better:

  • Name (Age): Khristian Boyd (24)
  • Position: Defensive tackle
  • Height, weight: 6-foot-2, 320 pounds
  • Relative Athletic Score: 4.63
  • 2024 salary cap hit: $839,707
  • College: Northern Iowa
  • Drafted: 199th overall in 2024 (New Orleans Saints)
  • NFL experience: Rookie
Boyd is making a big leap from UNI to the NFL, just like his former teammate Trevor Penning has experienced on the other side of the ball. But expectations are wildly different for him as a sixth-round pick compared to Penning as a former first rounder. All Boyd needs to focus on in 2024 is playing his role well as a run-stopper in relief of Khalen Saunders.

Kpassagnon is the Saints Player of Day 92

1717867308447.png
It’s such a shame that the New Orleans Saints are going to be without Tanoh Kpassagnon while he recovers from an offseason Achilles injury — the big defensive end has been one of their more productive free agent finds in recent years. Before we get to that, though, let’s get to know him a little better:

  • Name (Age): Tanoh Kpassagnon (29)
  • Position: Defensive end
  • Height, weight: 6-foot-7, 289 pounds
  • Relative Athletic Score: 7.38
  • 2024 salary cap hit: $3,303,000
