New Orleans Saints | Depth Chart

Offensive side everything looks the same.

But on Defense 2 changes:

1. Patrick Robinson overtook the #2 CB spot with Bailey as his backup.

2. Marcus Ball is directly behind Vaccaro for backup SS, not 3rd. (Used to be Sunseri)

Again the 1st DC really don't mean much, just thought it was interesting they went and made these 2 changes after the fact.

2nd corner is one of the biggest question marks. If Robinson solidifies the #2 spot the D will look 100% bonafide. Too bad that if he has a good year it's not likely the Saints will be able to retain him.

That's a great problem to have. This is a superbowl or bust year. I'm not worried about the future. Time to live in the now.

I've mentioned that a couple of times.

He plays great, he will want & deserve a payday of some sort, he will go to another team.

He plays poorly, White & SJB are already in the fold, he will go to another team.

Considering we are going to win the Super Bowl, it stands to reason PRob will have played well and we will lose him. We will also lose Champ.

Nuts, we have to start looking at CB's in next year's draft already!

I think we expect too much of Champ.. I dont really expect him to contribute much. It would be nice if he did. Just trying to keep it real.. The guy is long in the tooth and didnt make it two weeks into training camp before he got hurt. No reason to think he will play a ton this season. JMHO

I think to an extent some of us are over valuing what will be a 1 year wonder deal for Robinson.

He hasn't been consistent since he's been here. So even if he has 1 good year he is still a relatively unproven commodity.

He'd have to play absolutely LIGHTS OUT and even then im not sure anyone is going to reward him a ridiculous contract. With that being said

Because our 3 top corners next year will be under contract PLUS the host of UDFA were working with this year its possible we sign a journeyman or use a late rounder in the draft IF Robinson plays himself out

Man but we're DEEP at safety.

Should we start a new line? But can he play linebacker? or something?

At this point, it's "Can he kick field goals?" Honestly, it's becoming difficult to find a serious weakness on this team.

Agree, I hope he plays like the best CB int he NFL, that way we get him for cheap and get a Super Bowl and someone else can overpay him.

I agree with the top part, now that you put it that way. He has been inconsistent, and for that reason, he may not demand more than the Saints could pay.

But he may have a monster year, considering teams are going to have to throw to keep up, the ball is going to have to come out fast, and nobody is going to want to test Lewis, or either safety.
