Saw that this was on the table last night. Externally the Saints have made it known to the HC candidates that things aren't completed, internally they've let guys know that they won't be retained. Seems like Moore is all but a lock
Yeah, I think an offensive minded coach would be ideal just because if you hire a coach like Rizzi, just like in Detroit if the team performs well you're replacing OC and DC almost routinely. It's not a recipe for success. There's a reason only the Ravens (outside of Lions) have abided by that model and that's because on defense no matter who the DC is they have a playbook that they school everyone in...so nothing truly changes on that side of the ball. Also feel like it tells us that Rizzi isn't plan B, but plan C.
Of course there's always the chance that Rizzi wants to build his own staff if he were to get the opportunity, but I feel like if we were a week away from knowing and Rizzi was our backup plan, they would be telling these guys to hold on another week potentially. Suggests that Kafka is our backup plan to Moore.
Why? I mean I want it to, but all of this would be happening regardless. Unless our backup plan fell through too, which Rizzi is not and has not been our backup plan. The Saints better pray that the Kellen Moore hire works out
A whole new offensive and defensive staff will be coming in, we have offically started our post CSP era with the Saints.Saw that this was on the table last night. Interesting that these departures are all happening at the same time. Seems like these guys may have all been forced to hold off on leaving for their new positions until now.
Three happening in one morning all at once seems like more than a coincidence. Instead it’s more likely to me that the pen-stroke letting them out of their contracts happened all at once…and it just so happened to occur at a time when Moore is in the city and working in our facilities.
