I doubt Brown "beat them out". Maybe he did... I don't know. My guess is Victor may have wanted more money than the Saints were willing to pay.

Same with Odom. I doubt Scott Patchan is a better player than Odom, but the depth chart says Odom would be the 5th or 6th defensive end, but he may have wanted too much money.

I cannot imagine they anticipate getting any more than league minimum coming from the USFL.

Brown is good at everything, great at nothing. Ideal for deep competition on the depth chart and a guy that can be the bell cow in preseason.

Why? He’s a proven NFL caliber player with a SB ring! If he can provide solid depth and ST support, why would you want him gone just to be gone?
He’s far more proven than Smoke Monday

Smoke Monday over Sorenson if he can contribute on special teams right away and develop to play a role on defense. Smoke gives me Ceedy type of vibes to where he will annoy offenses to no end. Tom Brady don't want no Smoke haha

The dude who has a good chance of sticking is Nick Martin. He was a starter at Houston. 2nd round pick. Back up at Vegas in 2021. Ankle injuries seem to be biggest negative.
