N/S Dana White Says Gruden Shut Down Brady To The Raiders (2 Viewers)

IF Brees was going to retire and then changed his mind just to prevent Brady from winning with us, well I don't like that one bit. I love Brees but he was done and he may have prevented us from winning a Super Bowl. Brady doesn't have the deep ball issue that Brees got so we wouldn't have sputtered in the playoffs.

Also have to remember that Brady had the best WR/TE group in the league that year. Our top WR might not have made their roster and we all saw last year what Brady looked like when he lost his 2 favorite targets vs us. He almost scored 1 point!

How and why would Brady get traded to Vegas.

They made the playoffs last year with an interim HC and an incarcerated WR.

The AFC team that went to the SB last year was a 4-win team the previous season.

Brady and Gronk out there could have potentially had MAJOR ramifications on how the 2021 season went in the AFC.

Just only surprised. All you hear is how Vegas loves Carr

Isn’t the story that Brees officially retired behind the scenes after the 2019 season, it was an unkept secret at the Pro Bowl and it was simply a case of waiting for the official announcement.
Then he heard that Payton wanted Brady to come (and judging by the Miami stuff Brady would have been open to it) and decided he couldn’t watch Brady come and win with his team and stayed one more year.

Ironically Brady beat Brees in his last game in the league and went on to win the Superbowl anyway.
…thanks to Jared Cook, yes.

If true, Guden didn’t forgive Brady for the tuck rule nonsense which I completely respect. His Raiders were the real first victim of Patriots rule bending.
The Patriots had nothing to do with "bending" the tuck rule, that was the rule and that was the call the refs went with. He should have an issue with them, not Brady, or at least not for that reason.

I think it has more to do with that Brady was not playing well his last season in NE. Couple that with he was 40 years old as well. Everyone thought Father Time caught up with him and rightfully so. I’m sure Gruden was not cool with giving up a young QB like Carr for an aging, what seemed like a deteriorating Tom Brady. That would’ve been a dumb move. However, Tom’s snake oil personal trainer found him some revolutionary substances that allowed him to cheat Father Time again.
