I think they’re probably within the same tier. Carr has had better long term production but Jones was better last year and is younger. It makes sense that they received similar contracts

Disagree... I think Carr is in the Pre-Rams Stafford, Pre-Postseason Dak, Pre-Primetime Cousins tier... and Jones is in the just got off a rookie (5th year option declined) deal and barely made the payoffs only because the NFC was terrible tier... but I get what you are saying.

Now Jones can take a big step next year and make this contract look good... but as of now... that's crazy money for his current resume.
