Darren Rizzi Appreciation Thread (36 Viewers)

Rizzi did what he could with what he had. We should all appreciate him holding things together for what was left of a disastrous season. He is a good coach. It's hard to say if he will ever make it to a head coaching position, but it sure won't be for a lack of trying.

Thank you Mr Rizzi!

Now that the news is official, I want to take a moment and thank one Mr. Darren Rizzi. He brought a spark, common sense decisions, and was a consummate professional. Thank Darren, you deserve more than what we can give you.
not sure where this organization would be without his kicker and punter selections over the past few years, his lockerroom rearrangement and the flipping of practice fields. Re-defining moments of our franchise.

Apparently Nick said Chip Kelly would have been Rizzi’s OC if he had gotten the job.

Definitely rather have Kellen, but that would have been a very interesting combination.

Thank you Rizzi!

I appreciate Rizzi coming in and steadying the ship at the end of the season That is a really crappy job to take on and he did it like the professional he is. If he truly want to be a head coach in the NFL someday, he needs to skip the special teams job with the Broncos and try to land an offensive or defensive position coach / assistant head coach with a team. He needs that experience more than another special teams position to land a head coaching job. A couple of year coaching receivers or linebackers or something would really cement his credentials.

ya thanks for taking the opportunity we gave you then leave for payton. Good job

He was instrumental in the new KO rules. He also had the Saints effective in KO all season.

i wonder if he's hesitant to want to coach under Sean Payton, since he's gotten a taste of the real thing. i suspect not because Sean fired his STC a month ago..

Coaching under Sean is probably a good gig. He's been pretty loyal to his group of coaches and is always happy for them to get promotions on other teams. Rizzi should try to get the Broncos TE's coaching job that opened up when Declan Doyle left for Chicago to be OC.

He played a poor hand well. Great with the players. Hate to lose him as ST coach. And let's not forget his mad juju with opposing kickers.
