Darren Rizzi makes coaching staff changes on D-Line and run defense; adds asst ST coach (2 Viewers)

With all these changes Rizzi is making, I can't help but to think that he has been stewing over why Allen wasn't making these changes himself.
You know the entire coaching/training staff had to have been stewing over DA’s decisions.

I mean, warming up before a game is optional? What kind of blasphemy is that?

He did shed light on the fact that it was his idea, and someone said "allen mentioned this was potentially in the works, so was this something you did or somethign he was already going to do" and he said "no it was somethign i throught we should do, I'd mentioned it before, but now we're doing it"
Thank you for that confirmation.
He was STEWING! :hihi:

Blasphemy?! It’s NSFW. How do you not warm up before a game? :jpshakehead: One more example of the lack of attention to detail.

I guess I just assumed that all players had to do "warm-up" before the game. It's so strange to me that it wasn't mandatory. I'm certainly no doctor, but it just seems obvious that if guys don't warm up they are more susceptible to soft tissue injuries.
I think it should be mandatory that all players active for the game meet with a trainer on the field and g through a full set of stretching. Any that skip it or just fake it should get a team fine and after 2 fines benched for the game and fined the equivalent of a game check.

The activation period he's explaining is interesting. Rizzi has now made it mandatory for guys to go through that "warm-up" period, where it was originally by choice. Explained activation period is just a fancy term for warm-up. Something as simple as that could help w/ soft tissue injuries.

Meanwhile when DA was asked about it his answer was "were looking into it" and when asked if anything was imminent he'd say "no" And yet here comes Rizzi, 2 days in, and he's like yeah this should be mandatory.

It's frickin crazy!!

We had players not warming up before playing in a NFL game?

A couple things to notice.

Good for Brian Young, he has been working with us for such a long time under Allen and Ryan Nielsen, I sincerely hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

A second thing, don't undervalue the potential of a Special Teams Coach to become a good head coach. John Harbaugh comes from this path. To me, Dave Toub deserves the opportunity to be a head coach, he is that good.

And Rizzy? He is one of the best Speacial Teams coaches and he has learned from great coaches.

I am not saying he is the favourite to get the position, but I think he can certainly turn things around, if he is able to build a competitive coaching staff.

I would 100% give him a season. I like Rizzi a lot..
