Dateline - Child Predator Series (1 Viewer)

You won't believe this person's opinion!

i actually agree with alot of the writer's view points....there is no evidence to suggets that these guys they arrest are "sexual predators".... they are most likely lured into what would be their first encounter of that nature.....i also have to believe that some of these guys probably don't really believe the people they are talking to are that young....i think the writer makes the best point about going after creeps who prey on much younger kids....and what about the guys who have real mental issues??....i mean, would it be okay for the police to drop crack rocks on the ground and then arrest all of the crackheads for possesion when they pick them up??

the police are likely presenting an opportunity that most of these guys have never and would have never came across

Just so eveyone's clear on this, the Dateline setup does not have the police doing the "luring". The internet chat part is done by another group, Perverted-Justice. They forward the chat transcripts to the police which pretty much circumvents any entrapment allegations.

so the police aren't involved in the solicitation, which is basically just something to cover their behinds....either way, i think this is probably not the best way to take care of this problem...

Piece of CRAP! Another politician, they are getting up there with the Catholic preists!

...If there's anything that the Dateline series proves, it's that this "problem" or disease, or whatever it is, knows no occupational or socioeconomic boundaries. Politicians, doctors, military, ministers, actors, businessmen, unemployed- they've all been represented on Dateline......

Go to the perverted-justice site and read some of the transcripts...especially the ones ranked as the Top 5 most slimy. There are some pretty sick individuals out there. Maybe there's a better way...maybe not. I don't know. I'm just glad someone is doing something about it.

Hey baby, do you want to cyber? The ex used to tell me she'd get that all the time in chat (had an alias that pointed to the fact she was a female). It sounds kind of cheezy to me, but I recently read some statistic (can't remember where) that stated that almost 40% of American males would rather not be involved in relationships and would, instead, prefer porno on the internet. Now I'm guilty of the latter, but I don't understand the lure of cyber-sex at all. As I used to mention about phones, "Oh baby, how does it feel." "Like a keyboard!" :hihi: As for the child-predator stings, I realize they're constitutional and they get dirtbags off the streets and in jail where they belong, but something just seems dirty about them too. Do any of the guys actually believe they're going to get with a 13 or 14 year old? I'm pretty far out the loop, but I remember back in the day when all guys were blonde haired, blue eyed, muscular and well endowed, and most chicks claimed something +/- 36x24x36 and scortching hot. Everyone lies on the internet. It reminds me of the postal inspector's entrapments they've been doing for a while. There was one guy in Nebraska whose case went to the supreme court where he lost. He got legit porno mags in the mail, and the postal inspectors office decided to start soliciting him for child porn subscriptions. Apparently many years went by and the guy never responded, but at some point (like 7 or 10 years or whatever), he finally did and got popped for that. I was pretty young when that story was going down, but it was almost like they created the market for this individual who had otherwise done nothing illegal until they baited him and preyed on him to the point he couldn't help himself.

Again, don't misread me. I think scumbags need to pay for what they do. But how much of this (if any?) is caused by the artificial market they create?

Well sir, check out this book:

It will explain all about that issue. I agree that too many of these issues are entrapment. I took a sex crime class in order to receive my ba in criminal justice and there was an episode of dateline or 20/20 or some other news program where some folks that ran a day care were indicted about sexually touching/molesting some of the children. They showed the kids testifying in another room etc. All very convincing. Then I forget how, it comes out that these children were coerced into it. So you have to be careful when putting a charge like that on someone. It is a very fine line. If they have DNA evidence then I am all for that person being executed, however without that hardcore evicence and one word vs another's word, I dont know.
