Davenport Destroying Barkley (1 Viewer)

It was an Inside Zone running play with an RPO Backside (you can see the QB reading the backside defender). This is a really athletic play by Davenport, though not exactly by the book. Unless there was a slant called there, here is freelancing.

These plays are great when you make them but can get you killed when you miss them. By him crashing through B Gap he's putting more stress on the LB to scrape over the top on a full flow read (he sees zone, he fits to his gap. If he doesn't see Davenport shooting inside, you can end up with two players fitting into the same gap).

Great example of what this kid is capable of, but I definitely wouldn't use the clip to coach up other young DEs.
