Lalos’ preseason sacks were against 3rd and 4th team OL. He’s never had many regular season snaps against first team OL. Phillips was in the Jets DE rotation in all 15 of 16 games in his rookie season then was hit by injuries next few seasons.Lalos had more sacks in one preseason game than this guy has had his whole career, don’t know why they just didn’t elevate him.
Coverage sacks as well.Lalos’ preseason sacks were against 3rd and 4th team OL. He’s never had many snaps regular season snaps. Phillips was actually in the Jets rotation all 16 games in his rookie season then was hit by injuries next few seasons.
I don’t understand the fascination with this guy. It’s the equivalent of taking Johnny Knoxville from The Ringer and wanting to put him on the U.S. Olympic team.Lalos had more sacks in one preseason game than this guy has had his whole career, don’t know why they just didn’t elevate him.
You do know Phillips was also on the team for preseason and went up against those same players Lalos had his sacks on right?Lalos’ preseason sacks were against 3rd and 4th team OL. Phillips has regular season game experience on defense for an entire season in his first year and seasons after. Started some games as well. Lalos made most of his chances in preseason but coaching staff sees who’s more capable against starting OL more than us.You do know Phillips was also on the team for preseason and went up against those same players Lalos had his sacks on right?
Neither guy would actually play in a game imo, but Lalos has the higher upside right now.
Then why was Phillips activated and not The Great Lalos? You do know Phillips was also on the team for preseason and went up against those same players Lalos had his sacks on right?
Neither guy would actually play in a game imo, but Lalos has the higher upside right now.
As I speculated in an earlier post regarding bringing up Lalos, I wouldn't be surprised if Foskey is inactive on Monday now that the Saints have brought up Philips. Same thinking, different practice squad elevation.Phillips has regular season game experience on defense for an entire season in his first year and seasons after. Started some games as well. Phillips also plays DT and special teams so that factors in. Foskey and Kpassagnon will probably pick up the immediate snaps that Turner would’ve had.
I still think they'd like to give the 2nd rounder some rotational work in games, but I can see them going with Phillips over Foskey more than I could see them going w/ Lalos b/c Phillips has a lot more NFL experience. As I speculated in an earlier post regarding bringing up Lalos, I wouldn't be surprised if Foskey is inactive on Monday now that the Saints have brought up Philips. I think Phillips started one of those preseason games. He played against actual NFL players last year as well. You do know Phillips was also on the team for preseason and went up against those same players Lalos had his sacks on right?
Neither guy would actually play in a game imo, but Lalos has the higher upside right now.
Did he really? Man he has some bad luck.I read that Connely reinjured his knee in Sunday's game. I wonder if they activate Jalon Smith or do they go with a different player with an eye toward special teams?
