DE Kyle Phillips signed to the 53 man roster from practice squad (2 Viewers)

As I speculated in an earlier post regarding bringing up Lalos, I wouldn't be surprised if Foskey is inactive on Monday now that the Saints have brought up Philips. Same thinking, different practice squad elevation.
As vets Turner and Kpassagnon made Foskey an inactive. He became 2nd string RDE once Turner went out. We’ll need him active to spell Granderson some snaps and generate pressure like he has in preseason. I don’t think Phillips is leaping over Foskey right after the PS.

We overblown Foskey’s rawness a bit over a couple plays in the preseason. Overall he’s shown a lot of potential and continue to progress as a rookie.

It's not his preseason play that had him inactive. By all accounts, his play throughout camp was abysmal.

Maybe he'll turn out to be a gamer. IDK. If he actually sees the field anytime soon that is.

I'd be shocked if Foskey is active on MNF. They'll likely promote Lewis from the practice squad before Foskey is active imo.

Lewis has game experience but he’s been cut twice for lack of production by the Rams and Bears standards. We won’t know what we have with Foskey until he gets snaps in instead of keeping him in bubble wrap.

He was quiet during the summer then seem to progress over time later into preseason games. It didn’t seem like he’s was stonewalled while he was leading in pressures.

A lot of rookies now catch on fast that it seem strange when some take time to develop and get acclimated in the pros like a rookie does. It’s kind of impossible to give up on an early round rookie DL without the game action.

Lalos had more sacks in one preseason game than this guy has had his whole career, don’t know why they just didn’t elevate him.
It might be because Phillips has more NFL game experience than Lalos. Look I like Lalos just as much as everyone else that's calling for him to be elevated, but most times you have to go with the more experienced player and that's Phillips.

If the Saints don’t have a problem lining the unsettled Penning up to protect our 150 million dollar QB’s blindside, don’t know why they wouldn’t let Foskey play to get some on the job reps too.

I know there is a ton of love for Lalos on this board but I have to agree with coaches that Phillips is the logical choice as the next man up in our defense. Big body, holds up against the run and has good motor. Personally I thought he looked good in preseason.

Lalos was the king of the 4th quarter pre-season football games.

Kinda like Butterbean was king of the four round boxing match.
