After watching live and then reviewing this play over and over again, I come to the same conclusion each time--------Davis' Int. was clean, he began to run but slipped down and though he jogged at first he ran into the end zone for a PICK 6~! What "thoughts" do you all have on this play? He didn't give himself up but certainly DID out fox the giant players as he lulled them asleep and made his way into the end zone~! That's how I see it every time.........

Watching live, I felt he gave himself up.

Watching the replay, he definitely slipped and right after getting up probably assumed that they ruled that he gave himself up but if I had to guess, he never heard a whistle blown so he tried to return it since he knew he was never downed.

Don't think a whistle was blown because the official on the LOS on the Saints sideline at the bottom of the screen continued to run with Demario as he returned it. If a whistle was clearly blown when he went down, the official wouldn't have ran with him.

Kneel, give the ball back to your offense and let them close the game out. That's what he was thinking. The sideline told him to run so he took off.

I'm OK with him taking a knee. How many times have we seen a defender fumble while trying to return a pick. Meacham did it in a crucial moment. It happens.

I thought going down was the right play because I thought we were going to be able to run 1:43 off of the clock and you don’t want to get Meach-Stripped in that situation.

I know instinct tells him to intercept the pass and it sounds silly on the surface to complain about your defense getting an INT, buuuttt....it was 4th down. Intercepting the ball and kneeling (if that was the right read on his intention) cost the offense 15 yards in field position.

He gave himself up and they blew the whistle. Anything that happened after is irrelevant.

No problem with him giving himself up. INT returns are unpredictable and conventional wisdom is that you would rather have the offense be responsible for protecting the ball than a linebacker. Demario isn't Deion Sanders or Ed Reed.
