Dennis Allen “wins”…… (2 Viewers)

The problem is the Saints got into salary cap hell to go all in with a veteran hall of fame quarterback, then were abandoned by the best coach in franchise history, and instead of rebuilding and taking advantage of fans who would understand a rebuild with a new plan the Saints tried to recreate the old plan with a coaching staff incapable of implementing it and locked themselves into permanent salary cap purgatory by extending veterans of a bygone era instead of cleaning house and re accumulating young talent.

Now the fan base has no hope for the future until this error is corrected.
Lucky Loo failed the organization and let Sean have complete autonomy. He doesn't know what to do now. He doesn't have a long-range plan without Sean. He was always just the money guy. Ireland is connected to Parcells.

Is it really that hard?

Browning looks great, o’Connell looks good, Purdy looks like an All Pro……
Ask Miami, they went 25 years without a legit qb, Cleve, NYJ, Tampa, Carolina, Chicago, Washington,

Then Buffalo, went a very long time without a legit qb until Allen.

That's bull carp.

Firing a coach in or after his first season doesn't make sense unless your coach is Urban Meyer level bad.

It's good business to give a coach two seasons to show he belongs.

You got owners like Tepper that fire coaches so quickly that their coaches don't have a chance to build anything or correct mistakes.

Tonight's game was miserable, the season has fallen way short of expectations and everyone is dissapointed.

I also think the organization will be looking to move on from Dennis if there is anyone they think will be a better fit.

He came in 8-28. He never should’ve been given the job to begin with. Now Loomis has let him pee away 2 years of some of our best players prime.

Should’ve fired him and Pete last offseason. Good business is winning. Not having more of the opposing teams fans in your stadium.

First time coach fine, give him time. He came in a loser though, and will leave that way.

They have to move on from Allen unless lightning strikes, they make the playoffs AND win a playoff game. I'm honestly 50/50 on thinking they might win the division or lose the next two games. Atlanta stinks, Tampa kind of stinks and we stink. Somebody has to win the division. We get a longer rest time, who knows?

He has now reached the point to where he struggles to be competitive with equally bad teams!

Loomis was literally here every game when Sean was kicking arse all over the place. He’s knows what winning is.
He wanted to "preserve the culture". The culture is meaningless without Payton and he can't accept that. Hell, the "culture" was really meaningless without Brees, tbh. We should have had the stones to roll the dice on a new regime once SP left.

But now we're here with DA and Loomis seems pretty resistant to change even with all the evidence that it's not going to work.

Loomis won with one specific coach and QB combo. He just got lucky that they stayed here as long as they did. His record outside of that isn't stellar.

It’s pretty mediocre - the bottom never fell out (2005 doesn’t count) and the only other 10-loss season came in a 17-game season on the 17th game.

The good times were memorable and I hope y’all enjoyed them. I try to watch random old games here and there (even some losses) to keep my perspective in appropriate focus. Things aren’t Ditka Days bad and thankfully they’ve never had to be.
