Dennis Allen is 3-1 after the Bye as Saints HC; last season’s postbye opponents have the same W/L % as this season’s postbye opponents (2 Viewers)

We’ll squeak out a win and everyone will be talking playoffs and they’ve turned the page then they’ll get throttled the next week and so on and so on until the season ends and Mickey announced that he’s extending carr through 2029 and Dennis Allen is getting a raise and oh yeah we had to get rid of Rasheed because we’re adding 4 more years to cam Jordan’s contract.
This is funny but at the same time sadly on point. It's going to rain restructures and voidable years this offseason. They don't have a choice. They have backed themselves into a corner. A lot of cap gurus swear by the Saints approach to the cap but to me it seems less than ideal when you don't even have the possibility of rebuilding the roster. That's not even an option. They bring in a new GM tomorrow and there's nothing he could do about.

It should’ve easily been 4-0 if our starting QB at the time was productive after the 1Q vs. Carolina.

6 of 7 post-bye matchups this season are against .400-or-worst teams, similar to 3 of 4 matchups against .400 teams after last season’s bye.

DA’s 3-1 rec last year indicates the Saints will go 5-2, 4-3 at the very worst, after the bye against 4-6 Atl (x2), 7-2 Det, 1-8 Car, 2-8 NYG, 3-6 LAR, and likely-4-6 TB.

It’s not really about faith or no faith in DA. The Saints would have to play worst than already lesser-record teams to lose most of the games after the bye. They’ve at least shown they’ll beat all <.400 opponents this season when healthy.

I think we Win in Atl
Lose at home to Detriot
Win at home against both Panthers and giants
Lose to the Rams
Win against the Bus and Falcons

5-2 down the stretch
Sweeping the Falcons and Panthers, splitting with the Bucs, winning the Division at 10-6

Host and beat the 11-5 Dallas Cowboys wildcard team, and then get trounced against the 49ers

Tommy DeVito scampers all over the Saints for 125 yards rushing after being told to go home and shine his shoebox.

I understand what the OP is trying to say. But frankly I think it's gonna take something like 6-1 with at least one win in the postseason to hold off a frenzied mob of torch & pitchfork toting fanatics from showing up at Allen's front door when the season ends.

But it will be interesting to see what DA comes up with to prepare his team during the BYE week. It seems that we have been pointing to a lot of teams on our schedule so far that this Saints team has no business losing to. The same will be said of the Falcons after this week off. And yet there is no team that we can consider to be easy pickings anymore.

A loss to Atlanta might just push a big part of this fanbase over the edge.
