Aren't we already on that bridge? It's week 8.

Well, that's it. The emptiest threat that I have ever heard. Dennis will probably only make a change under one circumstance.

It's the bye week and the team fighting for survival.

The second statement “we’ll cross that bridge if we get to it” sounds like the Colts game is the make or break game for a coaching change.

A loss putting the team at 3-5 forces a OC/playcaller change. A win will just keep things as is on the way to a 8-9/9-8 season.

I’d love to know how he expects those “growing pains” to be done with if he refuses to change anything. And anyway, anyone with functioning eyes can see they are far more significant than growing pains.

I’ll still support the team the rest of the way this season but I’m at the point where if the bottom falls out of this thing I really wouldn’t be bothered. At least it’d get rid of a terrible HC and put us in prime position to draft a QB. In fact, it’d probably be for the best, long term, if we do lose to the Colts, Bears etc.

I don't think so. His job isn't secure. But what he says in front of the camera isn't necessarily what he says in the locker room. And the truth of the matter is, what do you expect to happen mid-season even if DA does demote or fire Pete? That has rarely made a difference. Any significant changes to the offense, coaching or otherwise will be in the offseason.

I don't know. The narrative from last year was that Dennis was gonna be afforded 3 years. I think it would have to take an awful collapse to get to end this in year 2. If he goes 8-9. I don't think they'll fire him.
