Derek Carr practiced today. (2 Viewers)

All this DC yelling at a player stuff is ridiculous. hen a player makes a bonehead mistake or half arsed ran his route or miss the play called at the line OR thinks he had a false start and just stood there like CO and RS and AT has and they have done bonehead things before Maybe the QB who is the in charge on the field should get upset . I've seen so many QB's ream WR's for running the wrong route or screw up in some way I can't even recall them all. From Manning to Brady to Rodgers, and before you say " Carr is not any of them " I;ve seen mid level QB's do the same thing . It doesn't make a difference the level of the QB It's his JOB to let a player know where he went wrong, especially if it continues to happen
Personally, I don't care that Carr is yelling at anyone for messing up. The thing is, if he can hold others publicly accountable, why does that escape him? He can scream at everyone on the field and on the sidelines but DA is at the podium week in and week out to save face for the things that points to Carr. I think we have a pretty good locker room but the play that everyone keeps going back to is a perfect example. Carr yelled at Olave on the field for the world to see, DA put in on Olave for the world to hear, Olave fell on the sword and it took MT breaking that play down to show that it was more on Carr than it was Olave. Again, it was weeks ago but truth is, what you give, you should be able to take.

You do know he did his job, right? His job was to clear that space out for Taysom. Tape shows it was done and CGM, in his tweet, confirmed the same.

Here is the crazy thing; if you say that Olave quit on his route and that's why he threw it away, you will have acknowledge that on that play, Carr did a worse job, as he completely whiffed on 2 of his 3 reads, even though Taysom (his first read) was open. Matter of fact, if he didn't discuss with Olave that he would throw him the ball if he breaks free, then he has just gone renegade with that play. If you really begin the peel the layers on that play, Carr looks to be the bigger offender. But that was weeks ago.
HIs job was to clear for TH and run THE FULL ROUTE not just Ok I ran far enough. I'll bet THATS what DC was upset with , as he should be. and How do we know what was said in the huddle ? What do you think Peyton Manning's reaction would have been to that very same situation? And don't say DC is not PM because that makes NO difference

When DC does his PC's he almost always says WE need to do better, Or WE didn't do something right. Yes he's not big on saying I , but he does not single out anyone

A couple of things are obvious in the NFL. Good head coaches and Top 10 QBs make a massive difference. If you're a smart NFL executive, finding those are your primary responsibility and you don't stop until you find one of each. You make the change as soon as you know you don't have one. If you have locker room dysfunction or players are unhappy and don't know what's going on, you don't have a good head coach. If you have fans arguing over who should be the QB or there is a QB competition, you don't have a QB. We know these things intuitively.

I feel like Loomis has diligently tried to find a QB in free agency to no success. He's brought in quite a few veteran QBs that flamed out on other teams. He has not sought out a QB in the draft, which is where most good QBs come from. He's tried to replicate the Drew Brees luck and keeps failing.

With coaches, Loomis was lazy and in a way took the opposite approach to finding a new coach to how he found Payton. Payton was smart, but an unproven gamble. DA was a known commodity and not the good kind. Loomis barely even looked at young coaches that were unproven gambles and decided on reliably bad.

Yes, this team could go through several coaches and several flamed out drafted QBs, but we're not turning this team into a perennial playoff teams until we get on with it. DA/Pete and Carr/Winston aren't going to get us there. We all know it and for some reason Loomis is denying he knows it.
I agree with most of that other than last yr Bronco's fans were calling for RW's head and he played badly. Enter SP , and it took some games but look what RW is doing now. Now DC didn't have the success RW had in the past but he has had some success with a good coach. Look at Geno Smith , he gets the right HC and OC and his career is revived. We have DC for another yr or 2 , lets get him a good offensive minded HC and see if he can at least do as well as he did in 16 and with Gruden

Thanks to CGM, we know how the play was supposed to go and no matter how it is spun, the route was ran as needed. He cleared for Taysom and Taysom was open. If Taysom didn't get open, he had 2 other receivers live in that play. We discussed this so much, you should know it by heart now. At the end of the day, Carr wasted a possession in a game that we lost by a single score

Except for last Sunday, nearly every minute Carr has played has been unbearable and unwatchable. Give JW in there throwing to the other team all day. I don’t care, at least it would be fun to watch, especially with some TH7 sprinkled in here and there.
Try nine years of it, and I am a die hard fan, it kills you to see an actor playing a QB.

Think Stabler, Plunkett, Gannon, its just sad, Gannon throwing a pick would try to destroy you on the tackle just for it, the other guy just kinda half arses it, runs off the field ,and jokes about it.

Not to get too much further into the mud but in regards to Carrs first meal here… really felt underwhelming. Same with how Williams talked about the Beignets.

Maybe I’m just a mug for the camera, and trust me I’m all over my social media pages, but if I was Carr, and really fired up about coming here from the BS Raiders stuff, and again if it’s ME, I’m doing nothing but finding the most endearing dinner spot, going in, buying the tabs of the floor and saying “great things brought me here, and I’m here to bring great things! “

I know it’s all hindsight. But I mean there definitely was a lot better ways for him to handle doing to town and I do agree that maybe that was a bad omen.

Ultimately I don’t think that is reason he has struggled, but I do think it goes to show his ability to endear himself to the people around him.

Carr doesn't get flak for yelling at Olave... He gets flak because he wasted 3rd and 8 to have a tantrum. He has another tantrum responding to media. That's not showing emotion, that is an inability to control your emotions. Talking to someone on the sideline is galaxies apart from wasting 3rd and 8 when trying to come from behind. In fact talking to someone on the sideline is EXACTLY what you expect from a leader.
Guess you've never watched a Jim Mora or SP press conference , some of those are legendary

I dont either, but Im just say

Agreed about the first meal, but as a somewhat educated person, HS, there is no way I do to a chain restaurant in NO. College WTH?

Im checking out my family, locals , and so on.

When I come down to visit my family, Im going to be on this board asking for recommendations.

If I havnt been banned.

Ya know people judging DC by the 1st meal he had after coming here is about as absurd as I can think of. Ya'll do know that he was with his wife and KIDS. You think the lids were gonna get all excited about going to Commanders Palace or some other N.O. landmark ? Heck no they probably love Chipotle's And if he's the father like I have been I want to make my kids HAPPY. I can take the wife to Brennen's or Two Sisters when we're on our own . Some of you people are just RIDICULOUS

And saying "WE" is showing we're all in this together

Just gonna say, as a kid moving outta state, I would love to see a Landmark over a fast food every state restaurant.

Saw many landmarks, Yellowstone, Arches Canyon, Zion Canyon, Yosemite, Red Woods, and so on.

Nah, sorry, last place i seek out for food, other than McDs drunk and high.

Not judging him as a player, but his palette is trash.

Your talking NO, youd have to be a priceless idiot not to know of the history and culture of the city, if not the state.

His daughter was 2 1/2 and his youngest son was around 4 at the time. I seriously doubt they had their hopes up high over seeing an out of state landmark at the time. They probably much rather preferred the comfort of something familiar. Four kids, including two that young? My goodness, let man take his family to anywhere he/they want to go.

Carr was making those alert throws all season up until that point, I know I complained a lot about it and even posted videos of other teams running the same concepts successfully without just throwing up a prayer. Fans blamed PC for dialing up deep shots on third and short, in reality it was Carr making the choice to throw the downs away.

Hopefully whoever we bring in next year can force him to stay in the offense, even though his preference is to make his own decisions at the line.

No. I’m hurt and offended that tickets for a division rival are going for $10 on Sest Geek because the team became unwatchable. Much of that was due to poor QB play.

And yes, we are bad for other reasons also, But I am tired of football seasons being stolen from me due to inept coaching and player performance. As a paying (formerly) customer I deserve better.

We all do.
You pay for a ticket to an event, you do not pay for pre-determined outcomes. Your purchase also does not earn you any sort of dictation of standards. If they win 50-0 or lose 50-0, it doesn’t matter.

You absolutely have the right to decide “I don’t want to invest in this anymore, because I don’t like what happens to the team I cheer for” but none of us can sincerely believe we’re anyone important enough to tell a group of people doing a complex series of jobs against other competitors that “we raised the standards around here.” What raised for you is what you believed to be possible. You determine one person’s standards in your life and that’s those of your own.
