Veteran QB1s are like HCs/OCs when they change teams since they normally want to bring in a guy or two from their previous team(s) and also other players throughout the league may want to join him on the new team. There is no questioning DC's leadership and players know he was the guy that held the team together through the Gruden/Ruggs season.

Who follows DC to the Saints and what free agents/trade targets would want to join him? I can think of 2 potential additions.

Taylor Lewan is on record saying that he would like to play for the Saints and this was before DC's signing. Lewan would be a great veteran lineman addition and a mentor for Penning.

Foster Moreau is a UFA TE just hitting his prime. He was with DC for the first 4 years of his young career. He has experience, is a complete TE and an athlete with a RAS of 9.45.

Has there been any other rumblings or potential FA targets that may want to join Carr in the Black and Gold?

I haven't heard of any players mentioned, but I don't think we'll start hearing anything until FA starts next week. I wouldn't mind Moreau at all coming here. There's also some good D-Linemen too that are FA's from the Raiders. DT- Jerry Tillery, DT- Andrew Billings, DE- Clelin Ferrell and DE- Tashawn Bower. There's also RB- Ameer Abdullah, WR- Keelan Cole and LB- Jayon Brown, just to name a few. Hopefully we can get a couple of them to follow Carr down here,

Worth pointing out also that Moreau went to Jesuit High School and LSU…seems like a perfect candidate to want to follow Carr here, and could fill a need.

I do like Moreau, but wonder if he will command too much in FA! We are going into the FA period with little discretionary CAP space and we might have bigger needs, like DT or WR. If Loomis can work around that issue then Moreau would be a positive addition to the TE group and minimize our need to go after one in the draft!

I don’t think he gets crazy money as he was TE2 with the Raiders. I really like the idea of him coming to NOLA and would pair well with Johnson.

On this note, I'm estimating the Saints to have about 24 mil available post June 1st. They could use that to rework Thomas and/or play around with FAs. Unfortunately you have to be patient. They could probably only squeeze like 5 mil or less before June 1st at best.

So I don't expect them to do much for a while. They may just backload. I'm guessing they wait though.

(I'm counting about 3 mil for draft picks in that)

The tea leaves from the day he signed here seem to point to that. Also David Carr alluded to it on that podcast video from yesterday that Derek Carr and Thomas know each other on a personal level and seemed to intimate that Carr expects to have him.
Word. I'm just speaking life into MT staying here.
