Did y’all have an issue with Carr giving a shoutout to Dennis Allen after the win? (1 Viewer)

If he was asked about him it would have been a good way to show his respect. Didn’t see the point of it when Rizzi just coached the team to a win. Not a big enough deal for me to be mad at him.

I have a problem with Carr throwing to FM 25 yards downfield on 3rd and 6 when Taysom was WIDE open con a curl 1 yard past the sticks. And he saw him. The pocket was clean.

They friends. What do you expect? He recruited Carr to New Orleans. He's not some horrible human being. Just a bad head coach.
Agree, this win was an indictment of everything DA was doing (Or wasn't doing) as a HC, but nobody ever said he wasn't a great guy.

Some guys are meant to be department managers, and some are meant to be CEO's.

It’s not sensationalized. He went out of his way, in front of a microphone, in front of our fans, after a much needed win, to thank a man, as to say for the fans to give DA respect. He wasn’t part of this victory. Like I said, it was classy, but not the correct place and time.
I was referring to something that was said in the OP saying that a lot of people didn't like this comment.

I didn't take it as Carr inferring that the fans should give DA respect............he was talking about a friend.

We do indeed live in a time when people get their feelings hurt by something someone says and have to make a big deal about it.

It's forced in our faces every day.

It's probably the biggest reason why I am not on any social media platform.

Just don't have the time for it.

It wouldn’t be a problem if a good amount of the Saints fanbase didn’t like DC4. Whether anyone on here wants to admit it, he is linked to DA. So, many fans liken our recent struggles to him, along with DA. Not to mention, the fanbase of MT, CO, and others don’t give two 💩💩s about DC4. There is a huge division when it comes to him. He may not care, but he kinda should, bc if you ever want to be the face of our team, then you should know how to play to the crowd. The last thing the crowd wanted to hear was anything DA related. I’ll say it again, I like DC4, but he could’ve communicated with DA, and said those same things in private, which I’m sure he did beforehand. So, why do it in front of a bunch of fans that were calling for DA’s head the week before and every other week leading up to it? You can’t force people to give someone respect. A shout out is giving someone their flowers, so yes, it’s inferring that some should respect “what he built”. Either that respect was earned or not. Does anyone follow Saints social media outside of here? There’s so many fans that had issues with it and I see why. If I were DC4, I wouldn’t have done it, no matter how good of friends I am with someone. I would say it in a press conference (mainly just a phone call but whatever), but not in front of the whole stadium, when DA’s name was not even mentioned to begin with. Be the leader of the entire team, not just yourself bc I know for a fact, that there were a lot of players that didn’t care for DA.

Tone deaf. Shouting out Dennis before congratulating Rizzi was just…
Below is the text of his comments. He talked about wanting to win for the city, gave a shoutout to DA and said he was happy for Rizzi too.

And he gave Rizzi the game ball in the locker room. So the fiegned outrage is a bit much for what were pretty reasonable comments about a friend of his.

Much ado about a bagel.
We just want to win. Our city deserves a winner and that's all we want to do. So shoutout to DA [Dennis Allen] because he helped us build this. I know he wasn't here today, and I know Rizzi will say the same thing. Shoutout to DA because he helped pave the way for us. And so, DA we love ya, but happy for Rizz too, that's his first win. Hopefully, that gets us back on track.

I knew the quote was clipped. I saw the whole thing. I just would have probably gave Rizzi his flowers first on his first win. Felt like he was an afterthought. It’s honestly not that deep to me as the man drafted him (DA). Just answering the question the OP asked.

Well, he gave him a game ball, which is better than flowers. :hihi:
