said if Saints don't turn ball over, they give Atlanta a beat down tonight. Drew is 77% completion against them. In the last three games atlanta has not stopped the Saints offense. The saints have stopped themselves.

When two great teams play against each other the turnovers' aspect is always one of the key statistics that defines the outcome, if not the most important. Having said that I hope that New Orleans can establish some run in the beginning of the game, so that later on Drew Brees can air it out to the Saints' dynamic set of receivers.

It's wishful thinking, but if the Saints had simply kept driving on Atlanta in OT instead of opting to kick the 29 yard FG in our first game with them this year, they would have scored a touchdown and won. They were moving the ball at will on the Failclowns at that point. This is not a criticism of Payton--I know he did the high percentage thing and that Hartely should have made the FG. It's just confirmation of Dilfer's comment: Atlanta's D wasn't stopping our offense in that game. Our own mistakes stopped us.

To me, it's not about Drew. Drew will be fine. Our defense is the key. Which defense shows up? If we play our A-game on defense, we win this game easily. If we focus on Michael Turner and the underneath passing game, and let outside CBs play bump coverage - then we win easily. If turner and their screens and flats passing game get going, it'll be tough.

Dilfer may have been a mediocre QB throughout his carrier, but he knows his football. He calls it like he sees it. Gotta love that.

Yeah, people laughed at him when he said the Saints would beat the Colts by double digits in the Superbowl. How'd that turn out.

He's been on the bandwagon for a good while and it's nice to see that kind of support on ESPN. Plus, he's not a moron. He's seems as adept and decisive as anyone in the sports media.

This... :00000654:

...and this. :plus-un2:

I don't grind an ax over people who change their thinking in the RIGHT way. To me, Dilfer has been speaking stuff that makes sense about the Saints for quite a while. So based on all the other "chatter" out there, Trent Dilfer is certainly no moron.

Sometimes you don't want Trent Dilder predicting your team win the game. I can see why the guy wasn't a very good QB, he isn't very bright.
