my divorce was clean

we used Southern Legal Clinic on Veterans in Metry

it's by Cleary....it was $700 and we didn't have to do anything but pay them and sign a few documents

There's no conflict of interest in this case unless the person actually becomes a client. If it's just consultation, no conflict arises.

Representing both parties (even in the most amicable divorces) is unethical per se.

It depends on the content of the consultation. If the potential client tells the potential attorney things that the spouse doesn't know and that could prejudice the client in the dispute - then I think there's a conflict.
