Do we as Saints fans concentrate on the negative? (1 Viewer)

The Saints are why i play the Blues for money.... Their a blues mans team...

That is what fans do, second guess every decision, because we all know better than the FO, coaches, and we could execute so much better than the players, if we had just been blessed with their physical skills. Seriously, what fun would it be if we came on after a game filled with bad calls, mistakes and miscues and talked only about how so and so did this well, or only about the good. It helps us fans get over it when we vent about it.

If your a long time saints fan as myself you cant help but to feel negative. If your younger around 27 or less you might have a better outlook. But if youve witnessed the games weve lost, how we lost them, the bad calls against us, excessive injuries, trades that didnt work out the list goes on. Any veteran Saints fan knows what Im talking about. But you know what, I still llove em!!!!

I keep reading thread after thread of Payton is an idiot, he has to go. Payton's play calling is suspect, he just doesn't get. My personal favorite he tries to get to cute or tricky. While I would agree his aggressive play calling can get frustrating I personally prefer an aggressive coach.

Now let's take a little closer look at this suspect play calling. For the moment forget that the Saints have had a Top 5 offense all 3 years. The Saints offense on an average run 67 plays a game, now out of those plays how many are cute or tricky 1 maybe 2. It is really hard to tell because we seem to readily forget the ones that work and never forget the ones that don't.

The biggest play remember from last year: The end around pitch from Reggie to Devery, right.

This year appears to be The 4-1 sweep.

When it's 3-4 and Drew throws a long ball to Colston and it is unsuccessful we scream why why man Payton You blow but if in that same circumstance Drew throws a seam route to Devery for 45 yards there is a brief celebration and it is time to move on.

So I ask are we concentrating on the negative when these cute/tricky plays make up 1.5% of Sean Payton's playcalling.

.

There are people on this forum who would have nothing to say if it weren't for negativity. Probably 95% of the members are not that way, but those 5% can be a real headache sometimes.

I think I made a post earlier in the year that just about everyone from New Orleans finds a way to complain about everything. Y'all could be given a bar of gold and find a way to complain about it. Oh, it's too heavy.. now I need to find a way to sell this darn thing.. etc etc.

but like any fan base, you just want to win. However, if we ever make it to the big game before I die.. and we win it... I will bet money that at least ONE fan will say "yeah, we won the Superbowl, but we still didn't play a very good game, and why did Payton challenge that stupid call?"

I try not to be, but truthfully it's hard. After thirty years of being disappointed just about every year it's gets harder and harder to keep up a postitive attitude about the Saints.

Everyone thinks their team should win every week, except if you are a Lions or Raiders fan. If we lose a game on a stupid play call like last year against the Bucs when all we had to do is protect the football with a lead and Payton calls a trick play that results in a turnover and then touchdown for the Bucs. Now, Payton is supposed to be a professional playcaller and a offensive genius, but there are basic rules to follow in the NFL. One being "Protect the Football". Should be simple, basic, and self-explanatory. Now, everyone makes mistakes b/c we are only human, but playcalling like that DOES give us a rightful reason to complain as fans. That does not give us the right to complain about everything that does not go in our team's favor. Sometimes sh*t happens.
