There really isn't a obvious franchise player #1 overall this year.

Never said there was. But having the 1st pick gives you so much leverage. If you don't think Ward or Sanders is the future, trade the pick to someone that does.

We should be glad this didn't happen. It's would of put the Saints in a position to draft a qb who is not a blue chip prospect. We all know the Saints wouldn't trade down for more picks

Nah, still give me the 1st pick. I would rather have them take the shot and miss then be stuck with Carr/Rattler for another couple of years.
