Do you remember your first day of high school?

I definitely have a ton of memories of ninth grade but memories that I know for a fact was the very first day? I actually don't think so

Which is odd because there was quite a lot of change in my life at that time

We moved from the only house I had lived in just a few weeks before

Early grade school my mom drove me to school, later grade school and middle school I walked

High school was the first time I rode the school bus (outside of field trips)

After thinking long and hard about it I honestly don't know that I remember anything about that particular day

In my town the high school building also housed the 8th grade - the middle school building was only large enough to hold 6th and 7th grade. So I vividly remember being an 95lb 8th grade nobody walking the halls with football players with full beards and girls who looked like they were 30.

I do not recall. But that's partially because there wasn't much change. The high school was next door to the junior high school. We rode the same bus routes with the same people.

That’s interesting

It was pretty crazy - it accelerated a lot of the 'growing up' process in both good and bad ways.

This was also the early 80s so things were sorta nuts in general - we had a smoking patio for the seniors just outside the cafeteria, etc.

I couldn’t tell you the name or recognize a picture of a single person who was a senior when I was a freshman

Or of a freshman when I was a senior

No, I really don't.

I actually don't remember most of high school. It wasn't the formative, core memory building time for me it seems to have been for many others.

It was also just technically 2.5 years of my life as I graduated early, and our 9th grade was part of the junior high. That may be part of it.

Not high school but I remember my first day of 7th grade junior high cos that's the day I met my BFF

Nope, and I even had to do it 4 times. Yes, I went to 4 different high schools

I’m with Sun though, HS really wasn’t some great experience that stuck with me forever

It was a complete shock fit me after being in Catholic school for eight years going to public for high school.

I should- it was a big change
But nah, don’t remember much of it at all
Actual School wise going from 6th grade to 7th was a bigger change

Going from having the same teacher and classmates all day to “each subject has a different teacher in a different classroom and each class has some different kids in it?” was more of a shock and adjustment

High school was that in a much bigger building
