Do you think [46 y/o] Drew Brees can still be a starting QB? (20 Viewers)

Don’t think fans realize what all actually took part for him to play as long as he did. When everyone was complaining about the lack of arm strength or throws down the field, it was a struggle just to get him to Sunday.
And he still led the team to amazing records, would have included another Super Bowl too but we all know how that turned out.

First ballot hof’er and top 5 all time for me. Complete package.

Thank you Drew!

I do wonder if he isn't secretly considering trying his hand at coaching.

No articles on that, but his level of understanding of the game? Thats gotta be rare. His demeanor, the way he talks? Sounds very coachy to me.

Maybe with the money he's made he's doing what I would do and just sitting back enjoying life. But i wonder if that competitive fire is still burning. Maybe once the kids are grown he comes back to footvall and shares that knowledge with another generation?

I mean he did try calling games, so maybe its still in him. Who knows? Id be excited to see it though.

He’s rested and relaxed and hasn’t taken a hit in a few years. So do you think Drew could walk on and start for a team in say two weeks?
Not even close. He himself has even said he can barely throw anything. He gave his all.. Time to enjoy his retirement and family

The best players tend to not try to coach. The best coaches tend to be former players who had supporting or backup roles during their playing days. They’re usually great bridges between hearing what coach wants done and watching the players execute.

Mentally yes. Physically no. His shoulder was completely shot during the last two seasons and he's been injury prone in his final years.
