Does Letting DA Go Make THIS Much Difference Or Was It Also a Function of (50 Viewers)

You can just see a huge difference in the players demeanor and hustle on the field since Allen was fired. Rizzi has these guys wanting to play again. We still have a lot of issues with injuries but still won 2 straight games. Kubiaks offense looks vastly different without Allen holding him back.
It doesn't hurt that we have some of our injured players back and it sure doesn't hurt that our OL is actually looking like they did the first 2 weeks. The rookie was on fire yesterday and TP is playing pretty damn well.

Cleveland's D is nothing spectacular, but there was rhythm yesterday and it reminded me of the beginning of the year when there was hope.

Loomis and DA shipping out our spirit animal Ceedy Duce to Philly was a huge early red flag. By season 1, it was clear that the team held him in no regard close to Payton, and why should they? Year 2 same, Year 3 same. They were 2-0 last year also and fell apart.

Right, but we won the game. Who gets fired after winning a game
Underhill said that even if DA beat the Panthers, Gayle was still firing him on Monday. Also, Lovie Smith got fired after winning the last game of the year which also gave them the 2nd overall pick instead of the 1st.

please don’t take this as support for Allen, but Rizzi would be doing a whole lot of losing without Carr and Hill. They are the difference between a bottom 10 offense and an above average one.

I actually agree with you on this, because my take on the Carolina game was, we better not only win, but win with a huge margin making us look like our week 2 selves. By doing so, could potentially justify the injuries as being the only reason we went on a losing streak. So squeaking by and winning vs Carolina, would’ve still been fire worthy to me. But not only did we not blow them out, we freaking lost. So he was done done.

Rizzi is also someone with little to no HC experience. A guy in his second tenure, should know how to stop the bleeding or luck himself to a victory. Either you lose and learn how to win or you just learn how to lose. It was the latter for Ole Boy

Does letting DA go make THIS much difference or was this simply a function of playing a divisional opponent and at terrible team at the right time? Coach Rizzi beat the division leading Falcons in a nail-biter, and then smokes the Browns. We haven't scored at least 35 points since week 2.

I am legitimately curious as to everyone's take on this. Obviously DA being let go makes a difference but the team looks enthused and competent. I know Taysom Hill being back healthy was a huge factor as well.

Not for nothing but the most Saints thing to do will be to go on a fantastic run and be on the outside looking in by 1 game. And we'll look back at ALLLL of the one score games we could have (possibly should have one) the Panthers one probably stinging the most. However, the other side of that coin is without that loss, maybe we don't move on from DA and take even longer to get back on track.
First thing "WHO DAT", as I have said in other threads, Dennis Allen is a good defensive coordinator but sucks as a head coach.in my opinion he doesn't like making the hard decisions and wants to be friends with all the players, that is why they did respect him as a coach. I will say this good bye and good riddance to him

To answer OP I think it came down to DA and some of it goes on the players. With Allen, it never really felt like anyone had accountability. For example, when a player messed up we were used to seeing Sean get in that players face and let them know what they did wrong. Also DA's defense is coached for leads meaning they dont attack, they just sit back, something that just killed us at the end of games.

When it comes to the player side of issues, how made plays were negated bc of penalties? You can't blame that much on coaching, the players still need to execute. Or another example is missing easy catches, or mind boggling choices in that Carolina game (looking at you Carr on that last play).

Is everything solved now that Allen is gone? No way. This off-season is going to be very interesting from the HC position, to the draft, or possible new front office personnel.
