Dont go down rabbit holes trying to match offensive talent with Kellen Moore (10 Viewers)

He's the new HC who has an offensive background. Why wouldn't the FO try and adapt to the scheme he wants to run? Obviously, he will adapt to who we have after the draft and free agency but the team will be built in accordance to his vision over the next couple of years.

I agree with you, but only to a certain extent. Yes he has shown he is capable of adapting the offense to his players, but at some point, he will want players who have characteristics that can do the things that he wants to accomplish on offense. For example, if he prefers a quarterback who is at least a little mobile, we need to get a quarterback who is at least a little mobile.

The point is when trying to match a qb rb wr or ol to his offens, it is irrelevant, since he doesn't have an offense style.

Every coach has a scheme; he needs the talent to execute his scheme and vision; adjusting to the talent does not mean he can make marginal talent produce. It means he can draw up something a marginal player can execute.

We all should know this because we've seen CSP make chicken salad out of chicken s&#t.
Moore probably has an ideal offensive scheme he'd like to run. He's had short stints with several teams and adapted to what his players are best suited for, so we've don't know at this point what ideal scheme Moore will start building toward.

At this point only Moore and the Saints know what Moore has in mind. Hopefully, will get some insights during the press conference tomorrow.

It's possible Moore will do just like Payton did with each of the QB's he started. Payton had some concepts, but he really tailored all of his schemes toward what best suited his starting QB and he pursued offensive players that would best suit the offensive scheme that best suited his starting QB.

I hope that's the approach Moore takes. It gives you a lot more options when you need to find a new QB, because you don't have to narrow your options down to just a certain style of QB.

There IS one QB on the roster that is a little mobile. I'm not sure he's good enough, but I'd love to find out.

From your fingers to Moore's ears.
IMO it’s a no lose scenario. After this season we’d know 100% if Rattler is a franchise QB you can build around (great for us) or other side of the coin……if that’s not true, you’d likely be in a position to draft the top guy next years draft.

Posters should not make the mistake of trying to match qb or offensive talent with a Moore’s style of offensive scheme. He will adjust his scheme to the talent available which is probably why he will be successful.
Thank you.

What about this Scenario..Some of you guys are better at the contracts and cap numbers. BUT>>Assume for stability purposes, could Moore stay with Carr for a year, and buy time to develop Rattler? Could even Draft a mid rd QB if needed? Really don't think a coach is going to push out a Starting QB..He is going take what is given and then you readjust the pieces as needed to buy time into the future. FWIW. Could then Use Carr as an asset later..Either he shows you he fits your scheme or doesn't? Carr has had way too many OC in his career, and that is an asset many are over looking as well.
This, as I just posted on another thread that probably (and rightfully so) sparked this one

I've been seeing it all week on Twitter. Lol
Sign Justin Fields and draft Ashton Jeanty

Draft Jeanty at 9 and take Jaxson Dart in the second round.
Take Milroe in the 2nd role.

"Moore mostly works with mobile QBS; there's no way Carr can run his system." Lol

KM has said himself that he's "Bilingual" when it comes to playcalling. I think that goes to offensive styles as well. I think he will do what the personnel is best suited for. He's done that everywhere he has been.

I also don't think he will look at this yr as what some have called a " Throw away "yr. If he did I doubt he would have been hired.
I also don't think he's of the mindset to tear the whole thing down as some of you want to do. I don't see it as his style, like Payton would do. It's Payton's ego that had him doing that in Denver, and that is working for him because he's a control freak. Which has helped and hurt him in the past.

KM , I think will much to the dismay of all the Carr haters will look at DC as a bridge QB for 1 to 2 more yrs giving him the best chance to win , all the while looking for THE guy that KM wants
The thing with getting a franchise QB is that there has to be one available. And if your drafting him he also has to be the one you want for the system you want to run the most. I don't see one in this draft nor a clear cut one in the next draft , yet.

Yes the FO will be patient with KM , probably more with him than he is with himself. Which is why I think that Carr is here for at least 1 and maybe 2 more yrs. All the while we get the cap in line, we get younger at some positions , along with more talented by having a couple good drafts. along with looking for THE QB

The advantage of that strategy is, we build the team up so that it's ready to go when we find the franchise QB, AND if by most opinions that Carr is a good QB if you put the talent around him we contend for a division title and the playoffs
