It feels like Staley is the overwhelming favorite for DC. Man, I really want it to be Parker, but it feels like he doesn’t have a real chance at the job.

As critical as I have been of Nuss' play at LSU last year. I really hope he takes the next step and is in the conversation as a high pick in the draft next year.

It feels like Staley is the overwhelming favorite for DC. Man, I really want it to be Parker, but it feels like he doesn’t have a real chance at the job.

Why doesn't it feel like he has a real chance at the job? It might be Staley because he is the much more experienced DC who has called plays, but Moore only worked for him for a year so there likely isn't this really strong connection between the two. And Moore worked with Paker for a year too. It's not like Nuss, Sr. who has worked with Moore for years and on every coaching job Moore has had.

I'm hoping for Parker. I like the idea of having a new coach movement here. I'm sure there would be some growing pains, but it would be exciting to not see any retreads.

Yep. I like the idea of a staff of young "smartest guy in the room" coaches. I do have some concerns regarding whether Parker can call plays, but I'm not sure that Staley is an amazing play caller anyway and I'd rather roll the dice on greatness with fresh new ideas right now.

like i said yesterday, with the Eagles winning the SB, there was a huge bond formed amongst the entire coaching staff, because they all became immortal together as a unit. Would KM, in an effort to satisfy the rooney rule, threaten this bond, by just going thru the motions w/ Parker, if he wasn't a serious candidate. IMO, im calling Parker as our next DC for this reason only.

I’m only speculating that he’s the favorite because he’s more experienced. I really hope it’s Parker though.
