Doug Nussmeier is the favorite to be Saints Offensive Coordinator (167 Viewers)

I’m only speculating that he’s the favorite because he’s more experienced. I really hope it’s Parker though.

That's fair. I do think Staley probably came into this as the favorite because of his years of experience as a DC/play caller and his experience as a HC, but I do think Parker has a shot because both guys have about the same length of relationship with Moore. I also wonder if Moore, given that he's only 36 and got a HC job, might be more willing to roll the dice on a young unproven coach than older more experienced HCs?

like i said yesterday, with the Eagles winning the SB, there was a huge bond formed amongst the entire coaching staff, because they all became immortal together as a unit. Would KM, in an effort to satisfy the rooney rule, threaten this bond, by just going thru the motions w/ Parker, if he wasn't a serious candidate. IMO, im calling Parker as our next DC for this reason only.
I think it's authentic interest on both sides for sure. Fangio isn't going anywhere for a bit and the next move up for Parker is DC. Like all of the top NFL jobs, you have to strike when your stock is highest and the Eagles defense just destroyed a team that was being talked about as a dynasty. And for Parker, while the defense is old, it's also very experienced and that could help a new DC a lot.

Neither Burrows or Daniels looked like Heisman Trophy Winners their 1st year starting at LSU...

Yes, but neither did Mettenberger, Myles Brennan, Max Johnson, Danny Etling, Brandon Harris, Jordan Jefferson, Jarrett Lee, etc. Some guys take the next step and some guys don't. I'm pulling for Nuss to do it, but I'm not sure he will.

Also, Burrow and Daniels were learning a new system their first year where as Nuss had several years to learn the system, including some playing time in the system, before he got the starting job. He looked better in the bowl game. Hopefully he continues that improvement next season.

Agreed…I’d even go as far as to say that anyone being “interviewed” from the Eagles staff is likely to be hired in some capacity. Extremely strong odds.

Saying it now, this coaching staff with a new infused youth movement will get us to the playoffs this year.

Yep. I like the idea of a staff of young "smartest guy in the room" coaches. I do have some concerns regarding whether Parker can call plays, but I'm not sure that Staley is an amazing play caller anyway and I'd rather roll the dice on greatness with fresh new ideas right now.
I don't think either would be calling plays. Moore definitely gonna be the guy to handle that.

You also have any some veteran coaching experience to surround your first time HC.

We can only hope, given all the Negative Hype story clicks about KM shouldn't come to NOLA or he is gonna regret, blah blah blah, that would indeed be exciting.
