Draft Arch Manning this year (61 Viewers)

That's ok. We may still suck by then
I’m not sure the Saints can afford to pass on Sanders and Ward in ‘25, and Iamaleava, Moore and Nelson in ‘26, to wait for Arch just for family ties. They could potentially have top 5 picks in back to back drafts.

If he’s leaning towards declaring early in ‘26, it’ll still be hard to pass on a QB in ‘25 if the Saints are in obvious position to get one. I guess it depends on the remaining W/L results under Rizzi to know what pick range that this roster’s talent will bring back going forward.

I don't think the Mannings would do that to New Orleans. But there may be other owners they would do it with.

And if anyone would try it now, Deion Sanders would. He already made noise about it last year.
Yes Deion would do it, but not sure if he would do it to us though.

If Eli won’t go to SD Arch won’t come here
The Mannings have a great relationship with Saints ownership. Mainly the patriarch Archie, the franchise HOFer. Considering Archie was the Saints radio commentator for a decade+ after his playing career when Tom was owner, and attended a lot of 2000s luncheons involving the franchise, they’re on great terms.

The way Drew Brees was set up for legendary success for 15 years with the right staff would make them feel very comfortable if Arch was drafted here. But the Saints need for a QB right now 1-2 years before Arch goes into the draft is the biggest obstacle in front of drafting him.

We're likely to be bottom feeders for the '25 and '26 seasons while retooling the roster, so the timing might work out for the Mannings to sign off on Arch coming here. Dunno about y'all, but I can deal with a couple of tanky seasons if it means snagging an honest to God franchise QB in the draft instead of happening to luck out in FA.
Don't you think it's a bit premature to label him a franchise QB??

Where do you guys get this stuff?

I’m thinking more along the lines of creating his own legacy and not being Archie’s grandson

And of course what we look like as a competitive team , if I recall that’s what the issue was with the Chargers not a great FO

He's not coming here either.

Is he even any good??

He's certainly good. A 5 Star recruit out of high school and may have been the #1 player in the country that year. Not much chance to play at Texas so far sitting behind an entrenched starter in Ewers but he looked good in a few games while Ewers was hurt.

Is he NFL franchise QB good? I don't think we know that yet. But he has everything you need to be a franchise QB. But he still needs a lot of development and not every great talent becomes a great QB.

It doesn’t matter who we draft if we don’t get the HC choice right. How many promising QBs have we seen league wide that had their career ruined or stunted by the coaching staff?

Dude, just stop! If his name was William Jones you wouldn't even make this thread. He's not even Top 5 QB in college right now!

He one day may be great and hall of famour but let's get real he has yet to beat out Quin who's not other worldly and from the small sampling we have seen he not show a whole lot

My meandering thoughts...

Hire Bill Belichick, his talent evaluation (like Payton's) offsets Loomis' bean counting...

If... he keeps Kubiak & new offensive coaches, re vamps Defensive coaching staff (especially D-line coach)

Trade 2025 1st rd pick for 2026 1st rd pick & 2025 2nd round pick...

Ride Carr another year, or Taysom for a year with Haener & Rattler in the wings....

Use 2025 draft to add depth & fill holes (RB, OL, WR, S, & IDL), eat some (large amount) cap....

Trade up to #1 in 2026 draft & take Arch for future to sit a year (maybe)... fill depth & holes...

Take NFL by storm!

Create another dynasty run in Nawlins!
