My tweet to Doug Mouton of the Saints got Jackson on the Saints podcast today, so I sent him a message on fbook, and found out that both he and Brian are members of my Fraternity, Tulane chapter vs mine at Loyola. Jackson is a fantastic person. Made my day even better.
 
As one of those guys, who huddled in those holes in the ground in Iraq/Afghanistan enduring the fear/uncertainty, cold/heat/rain/snow, misery...this article struck a chord. Very cool story...especially the CO reaching out to one of his Platoon Ldrs in the field to provide a glimmer of hope/happiness in a world consumed by "the Suck".
 
Mr. Jackson Smith, I seriously doubt that you are reading this post but if by the off chance that you are I just want to say thank you for your service, and that goes to all military and first responders if it wasn't for y'all we would be living in a very dark place :9:
