Drew Brees endorses Aaron Glenn as his top pick and Klint Kubiak as his in-house hire (17 Viewers)

Loomis, you genius! Tell Drew to endorse Glenn, so it softens the blow!

I kid, I kid. Hiring a head coach, normally they are gonna help elevate the offense or defense. With the Saints, I really don't know what side needs more help. So for me when it comes to this new hire, hopefully we hire a guy, who can come in hold people accountable and at least help elevate one side of the ball with their expertise. Obviously I'm not expecting quick results, but would be nice to see growth throughoutthe season. Gotta start somewhere.

drew is more in tune with the players, the coaching staff, the front office/executive staff, and ownership more so than nearly anybody else in this country. there is no greater of an opinion to be had.
Drew has been retired for 4 years and lives in California. I think there are plenty that know better.

Man... NGL... This was the one "not-status-quo but still sooo status-quo" thing I hoped would not happen.... This allows Loomis to claim change - without actually chaining anything - while giving Glenn years of leeway.

Ugh... Worst possible outcome IMO... Glenn would have to be waaaaay better than I think he is for this to end well.

I think the way things "feel" at the moment, Glenn as head coach with Kubiak staying on as OC is the most likely direction we'll go, and I'm OK with that. ... I understand wanting new blood and thinking, but does simply because Glenn coached under Payton at some point mean we'll bring in the same kind of thinking ... especially when retaining Kubiak, who isn't a Payton guy, would remain?
