Great Question on this OP. I have always wondered about the gentlemen's agreement between certain agents/players/ teams involved. For instance, Agent gets a call from player telling him, look into {ex: call the the saints and get a feel}. Agent calls, sets it up, interests shown, then Agent leaks the meeting because now somebody is interested in his client> Or Agent keeps it hush hush, because client really wants to play for the team of his choice, so agent keeps a lid on it. Again, strong possibility it works every angle depending on the outcome needed.

If he is shopping his client to someone else, such as the Panthers, then having it known that the Saints might be interested would drive up his price. It wouldn't be the first time that we were used in this way.
