story of the day...

Marques Colston... you just can't drop that. Perfect pass that hit him right in BOTH of his hands.

Meachem also had a huge dropped pass.

Reggie... I don't really have much to say. I always defend him, and what does he do? He runs backwards!!!!!!

I think we will be fine in the playoffs. Wildcard isn't too bad. Still think we will win the Superbowl, but we need to clean that **** up.

Colston's gotta be top 2 or 3 in the league in drops, as good as he is. Guy has at least 1 drop every game. And today came back to kill us.

Even on the Lance Moore one, on the replay the ball went right through Colston's hands.

when the pass doesnt work we keep passing.....when the run doesnt work we keep passing

Colston should ask for Lance's autograph, Reggie should ask for Ray Rice's autograph.

I didnt mind it...if we woulda stayed in 4-5 wide...we didnt.

Tough loss for sure. We played well in spurts. Not gonna get it done at this level this deep in Dec.

We should have spread it out more. SP outsmarted himself.

Sure does. He had at least 1 or 2 dropped passes in the SB. Don't get me wrong, I love Colston. He is just not as reliable as someone like Moore or Shockey IMO.

I dont know why Reggie always has players on him before he even gets the ball, but he does.

And how do you blame Reggie when Jones whiffed on a few blitz pickups? Reggie can at least do that right.

Colston is great for a 7th round pick.

He's astounding for a 7th round pick and very very valuable.

He is not elite because he drops a lot of catchable balls.

We have enough data points now.

Granted, they can be tougher catches, but the phenomenon makes more of those catches than he drops.

Colston this year misses more than he makes. But, too be fair, Drew hasn't been his best either. That pass was a little behind. No excuse not to catch, but was not ideally placed.

That's just what it is. Can't be dissapointed bacause he's a net very positive, and he was a 7th rounder.

I don't think Reggie had a bad overall game. He had 2 major plays where he ran backwards that I can think of that cost us BIG TIME. Other than that, he was decent, but it definitely was not what I was expecting from him.

Aint no drop passes. Brees need to run the ball more. Everytime we loose people talk bout drop balls. Brees need to get on his S$$$!!! WWe dnt get takeaways we not hitting on a nothing. We need to get back to the blackboard...

i dont mind it if we leave some protection in or we run short routes

we ran long routes with no extra protection. baltimores front 7 is one of the best in the league and they blitzed with ease because they werent worried about the running game and we didnt leave enough blockers in to pick them up

Uhhhhh.. am I crazy for blaming the DEFENSE for this loss?

Nope... It was a team loss. There is already another thread about the defense, so I decided to make one about the offense.

That's exactly what I was thinking about Reggie. He's had enough chances, excuses, time, to say he is not much of an asset to the team.

Yep, Colston is still a net asset.
I still think you lose more than win when you play a defenze like the Ravens, in their house, in December, and you completely concede the run. You just give up.

But I'm biased towards seeing football as a basic physical congfrontation that needs to be won, or at least vigorously contested when you are playing a team like this at home, and especially if you don't have an elite QB like Drew Brees.

:)

You can still throw the ball quite a bit. It's the capitualtion out of the gate that bothers me.
