N/S Eagles release 6x Pro Bowl CB Darius Slay (20 Viewers)

Yep, our team right now is exactly like the 2009 Saints prior to signing Darren Sharper. Great comparison.

Maybe not. But maybe it’s similar to the 2000 Saints and 2006 Saints, where both times a first time HC overturned the roster with a nice mix of younger and older players, got to 10 wins and won a playoff game.

But it kinda sounds like a lot of fans don't want just 10 wins. They want a Super Bowl, or they want a top 5 pick, and not really anything in between.

That sounds kinda like bashing your head against the wall for no reason to me, but whatever works for you.
I hear ya. I would gladly take 9-10 wins as long as the team looks like a NFL team and not a bad high school team. IF they were good enough to accomplish that, I would hope that they don't do what the 2007 and 2008 teams did. Would be grand to pull that off after year one and then follow year two up with a couple of games better and so on. However, just excited for an entirely new coaching staff and new direction.

EVERY POSITION is a future need. It's football.
That's why it's best to always pick one of the best players available at any position and not limit yourself to just a "position of need" for the upcoming season.

A team is going to need everyone they pick at some point, so make sure everyone was one was of the best player you could get. If you've got too many of them at one position, you can trade one of them to trade for a player or pick that helps you get better at another position.

No, it's a pretty basic premise. I got it. I just reject it because it's a really bad attempt at gaslighting. This isn't the 09 Saints and we actually held out on Sharper and signed him for pennies.

What gets lost is that last year with DA and Rizzi as HCs and all the injuries, etc., they lost 4 games by a total of 7 points, and 2 of those were playoff teams. Is 9 -10 wins really that crazy?

It’s really not. Take those injuries away combined with real coaching….ya never know. I believe it though. Saints had some good coaches but terrible HC and the players tuned out. I hope CKM can do something with this team.
