NFL Eagles shopping TE Dallas Goedert (10 Viewers)

Sure, but you have to work the count and pick your pitch. A low outside slider from Philly is not a pitch you can drive.

After beating that baseball analogy to death, I think if we want to take a shot at a TE in the trade market Mayer makes sense unless Godert's cost is a 6th or a 7th and his salary is low. He didn't seem to be aging too well in Philly and his decline is likely to be steep.
Yeah, Goedert only had 10 catches for 170 yds on us. This guy is in decline 🤣

We are so allergic to good players these days.

Apparently no player is good enough to be a New Orleans Saint anymore unless they are the absolutely perfect 25 year old Pro Bowl prospect in their prime. 😂

Josina is as credible of a reporter as there is. She’s not making this stuff up out of thin air. She cares too much about her reputation for that.

I’d believe her over just about any reporter outside of maybe a couple of the big dogs like Schefter and Pelissaro, and Underhill.

She is credible, and here, she's credibly carrying water for either Howie's camp or Dallas' camp. This is planted, I think from Howie's camp. He's telegraphing, Dallas wants a raise. We appreciate the two rings he's gotten us, but he's 30 and under contract so, JOSINA - tell them we want a 4th round pick to move him, and in June.

What Credible Josina did not tell you is that DG has a $20M dead cap and no cap savings if they move him before June. Howie has all the leverage on this one.

To be fair you're being intentionally obtuse here.

One of the biggest problems our team is facing is that our best players are well past their prime and a complete lack of youthful talent.

Adding a 30 year old TE is just not a good investment for our team. Trading future assets to get one is an even worse idea.

We need draft picks and to draft well.

I like Tyler Warren. I think he is a generational TE. That would solve a lot of Carrs panick. I know we need other areas but this would help.

Right because you determine how good a player is and if he is in decline based on one game. Someone should tell this to NFL GMs and coaches. Just look at one game and that's all you need.

Let's ignore that nearly of his yards and 1/4 of his catches came in that one game. He had 42 catches for 496 yards last year. He's at best Foster Moreau. He's not even as good as Juan Johnson who had 50 for 548.

That big catch and run basically ended our season, yes?

He's basically Juan Johnson or Foster Moreau. Moreau is still under contract. We want to improve the position, not add more guys that are as good as our above average TEs. And at least Juan Johnson has some upside.

We should be looking for Willie Gay, Chase Young, or Zack Baun type players. Young vets in the 24 to 28 range that could be breakout players or were stuck behind good/great players and just need a shot to play. Or guys that haven't quite put things together but if put in a better system for their talents they will excel. I don't see the point in singing 30 year-old guys, that take draft pick compensation, that are on the decline and aren't better than guys we already have on the roster.
