Can you explain why you think it's on-brand for Loomis? His weight is a major outlier for what we've drafted at Edge in the past.

The multiple sexual assault accusations are a major negative imo, and require thorough vetting.

The bigger, taller edge guys are a Dennis Allen prototype. Not necessarily Mickey Loomis. It’s possible things have changed, and someone like Mike Green could be in play.

Side note: I predict Chicago (pick after us) will take Shemar Stewart or Mykell Williams (assuming Jeanty is gone). Edge makes the most sense for them, and Stewart/Williams are the only two that really fit DA’s prototype.

About the worst thing the Saints could do in this draft at pick #9 is take a guy with red flags in his character. Just seems like a disaster waiting to happen to take a guy like Mike Green or James Pearce in the top 10.

Ya, that's a giant No from me for a first round pick. If he's available in the 3rd round then sure. But those sexual assault allegations are a massive red flag. It happened at two different schools also. It's not like the accusers knew each other, or even ever heard of each other. It's highly unlikely that whoever accused him at Virginia had any knowledge of the accusation from high school.

Then throw in he had no money, so its not like these accusations were for a money grab.

If you are picking top 10, you should be looking for players that check all the boxes: production, height, weight, speed, level of play and morals. It would be a reach to take a small school guy when you are staring at other talent inside the top 10 IMO.

I assume he is talking about Granderson serving 6 months in jail for sexual assault which probably explains why he went undrafted. I highly doubt Green goes undrafted, but the allegations could drop him down in the draft.
