Our run blocking is elite. It is currently nearly unstoppable and has the league in a frenzy to stop it. The issue is, what if a team DOES stop it? What if we get behind and are forced to pass? We get lucky on home runs but the line is not built to pass block. Im worried about this one dimensional aspect of our line if a team goes up on us a couple scores and tees off on our line forcing us to pass. We are so starstruck by the rungame we need to consider what happens if its not going so well.

Well find out. A game getting too far a head will mean our defense is playing like trash, and despite the offensive explosion , this is still a defensive team.

Kubiak's scheme has our guys able to get leverage on the other team and really hitting their better players from a lot of angles. I hope they can keep this sort of thing going. I really thought Parsons speed might have allowed him to disrupt our offense more but as a unit they did a great job. Accordingly they also have a lot of just run it type plays which allows the linemen to really fire off and get the advantage rather than make a couple audibles and play passively.

It's kind of a funny thing. Most defenses nowadays are geared to stop the pass thanks to most offenses going that way over the past half-decade. There are only a few teams that are truly run-heavy (9ers, Ravens, Titans, and Saints) and frankly, teams won't recontour their defense to face the four teams that are favoring the run over the pass. I believe that running back values and contracts are going to start creeping back up. Now, I still think any running back taken in the top half of the first round outside of talents like Bijan are a thing of the past, but you're going to see teams committing to favoring the run over the pass to take advantage of current defensive mindsets.

We have one of the few defenses that's equally adept at stopping the run and the pass and credit for that goes to Dennis Allen and his singleminded goal of having at least three guys who'd be #1 corners on other teams. I also think Latt gets moved in the offseason to an AFC team so we can retain Adebo and Shaheed.

I would think Kubiak has considered those same scenarios. If he hasn’t, then we panic.

Adebo and Alontae and Kool-aid are dogs 🔥 I never thought Marshon could be expendable but he really is now

Through two games, Derek Carr has 39 passing attempts and has been knocked down one time.

The idea that the Saints offense is a one-trick pony ("one-dimensional") is silly. A strong run game aids an effective passing game, especially with play action - it's all about balance. This scheme wants to run first but we're passing very effectively. It's possible that we get behind and need to adjust but teams aren't likely going to be able to just tee-off on us with a pass rush. We have potent ways to beat a defense that overplays the pass-rush and a smart veteran QB who can manage it.

Seems like just looking for something to worry about.

This team is playing excellent fundamental football and are playing well prepared. There is little a team can do to defend it.

As in many cases in the NFL, if a team.beats the Saints this year, it will mainly be because the Saints beat themselves. Someone like Kansas city if they play clean and well prepared can beat a Saints team that does the same thing.

But 95 percent of the time solid fundamentals and Preparation win the game

Real good take--passing league, defenses using smaller speed ends, smaller Lbers----Saints go against the trend and become a bruising running team. This type of offense plays every weekend, in all kinds of conditions.
Over the last 2 games OL has played great, but the blocking of the TEs has been really good--pleasantly surprised---If Trevor can be a starting LT average and above average, we are in a good spot for the future

What have you seen in our two games played so far that makes you think our OL can't pass block?

Carr has only been sacked 2 times & the sacked credited against the cowboys was a joke!

How do you know we are one dimensional?
Football has always been about the forcing your game on the other team until they stop you.
So, run the ball because we are really good at it until you have to throw it 40 times in a game.

I love watching this old-school football.
Play great D and run the ball!
It use to be how you won Championships!

Shaheed is under contract for next year

I did a little research to see if a Kubiak offense has ever trailed in a game. My research has revealed that he has in fact had to play from behind and the results were shocking. When playing from behind, his offenses passed the ball. This investigation has revealed that Kubiak is familiar with the concept of passing the ball and playing from behind. In layman's terms he's familiar with the concept of "playing catch up".

Look I know this start has a lot of people thinking that this is too good to be true. And maybe it is. Of course we aren't going to jump out to a three score lead against every team we face. Of course we'll fall behind and have to throw the ball around. Maybe we'll catch up and win. Maybe we won't. But if we don't it's not going to be due to Kubiak's lack of understanding when it comes to passing the football. That's kind of his thing. He has a history of being a QB coach, OC, and passing game coordinator.

Its a long season and the more we play the more tape is going to get out there for defenses. The good thing is we actually have a defense and sure we may have to play from behind, but our defense should keep most games within reach that we shouldn't have to go too far off the game plan.

I think we'll probably find out this week because of the way the Eagles will defend against us. ... I also think you'll find that Kubiak's offense and our offensive line are anything but one-dimensional. ... I think our "quick pass" game will show that
