Evidence for God (1 Viewer)

It's main argument is that things are too perfect/unlikely/improbable for there not to have been an intelligent creator. Pretty tired, as well as weak. The site merely throws out scientific facts and asks, "how could this have happened this way by chance?". There are some interesting numbers, but there's nothing here that would convince me beyond a doubt. I remain an agnostic.

I agree. It's just a wordy version of the Anthropic Principle with God being the ultimate catalyst.

But the article unwittingly brings up a few interesting questions. Mainly, if God is ultimately responsible then how are the laws of the Universe proof of that? Shouldn't God be able to create physics as He sees fit? Or does God have to obey certain rules, as well?

What happens when we discover other life out there? What if that life lives in more favorable conditions? Are they the more favored ones?

Does it really matter if they exist or have more favor from God? Who's to say that God has a totally different plan for them? Frankly I don't really think it matters. Also, if aliens were to visit us, we should avoid evangelizing to them. Sorta like Star Trek's prime directive of non interference.

You're asking the wrong guy.

My point is even that taking the article in the OP at face value ("God did it!") isn't as simple as it seems. It still leaves a lot of inconsistencies.

That is some crazy math, that's way over my head, but I still don't believe it. I think we still don't understand too many things, and the God answer has always been the answer for the ignorant. As much as we think we know, 1000 years from now people will probably consider us ignorant. I believe that life evolved as it has because of the laws of physics, for which our understanding is still changing, but if they were different, then life would be different. Most likely we'll eventually disprove some of the current theories, and so all of this math would also have to be revised. Also, how convenient that God created time, but everything else had to be created. Hopefully there will be another dimension to us when we die, but that doesn't mean we'll leave this universe to join God.

People who believe will always find reasons to prove they are right. Others will always find ways to prove they are wrong.

I will now list humanity's combined evidence for god, from all religions and beliefs, throughout all of history:

Site looks neat but most of the reasons they say why god exists is just saying how perfect the universe is chance could not have created it.

I don't know if this could be right but couldn't there have been thousands of 'big bangs' over trillions of years and this is just one that let life exist? If you have an infinite amount of monkeys typing on an infinite amount of typewriters you will eventually get Shakespeare
