Fans need to have patience with Moore and the Front Office. (63 Viewers)

I really think Moore only gets a one year pass. By the end of the 2026 season, if we aren't knocking on the doorstep of a playoff berth, there wont be any more patience. He's stepping in on the heels of a head coach that was fired well after he should have been. Don't expect the front office to have the same patience as they did with Allen. This league moves fast. Last place teams rocket up to first place teams in one off-season. I have patience, but its going to wear thin if we don't at least see signs of the new system working in this next season.
This attitude is precisely why we will never do an actual teardown and rebuild. Fans are way to impatient for that. Better to be middling and hope for a lucky break and land a superstar in the middle/end of the 1st round.

Not sure how many know this but in the off season leading up to 2009 Derrick Brooks was released by the Bucs. He still wanted to play so he worked out either way Payton and Williams. It went well and they sent him up to see Loomis to make a deal. Unfortunately they couldn’t agree on a 1 year contract. I heard Brooks a few times on Sirius state the reason “I was going to be a part time player and wanted full time pay, but Mickey couldn’t justify it”.

This goes to show that Loomis lets the coaches have whoever they want as long as their contract demands are in agreement with what he places the players value at based on expected production and contracts for similar players at that time.

Fans have been more than patient. Patience is nearly gone and the front office has earned skepticism and criticism. They need to say something different and show us something different. At the very least stop saying the stuff that draws our contempt.

Fully agree with everything you said, not sure the FO is on the same page.

Loomis keeps saying we draft well, when a simple search tells the true story.

Moore absolutely. Young guy who needs some time to grow I tot he job. Front office with Loomis continuing to kick the can down the road instead of tearing off the bandaid to start over, not so much. I was hoping for something different to happen. But, looks like we are continuing to be jammed against the cap and having decisions governed by it.
Only for another year! Man….come on. Some of you seem to think that we are going to be over the cap or up against for the next 10 years. It’s only one more year even with the looming Carr restructure.

I hear you and feel most would agree with you but usually year three or four is when it supposedly pays off. I, like most on here, will be looking for overall improved play, adjustments, focus, hustle but also looking for that proverbial necessary steps from year one to year two and so on.

You’ve got a point

We’re actually pretty middle of the pack in drafting the past 5 years, not great but not bad as laid out in this article. This was written in 2023 so didn’t take into account the great class of 2017, and also doesn’t factor in Baun’s breakout which would pump up the numbers. Ironically we are ranked right behind Philly in this ranking.

Right now, it sounds like Mick is calling shots and restructuring a player, like the old days.
And what makes you think this when Kellen Moore literally said he met with Carr and it went great and he wants him as the QB?

Or are you one of these people that think Kellen is secretly just a puppet for Loomis, when Loomis’ history literally shows he allows the coaches to have a huge say in players?

Loomis said he hired Moore, because Moore had a great plan to be competitive. Why would he then not follow Moore's plan after hiring him?

Ireland says that Moore will be making the decisions on the scheme. Which players play where and do what are a big part of the scheme.

Moore says the reason he wanted the Saints job from the very beginning is because he loves the collaborative effort between the coaches, management and the personnel dept. That means he loves that management and the personnel dept work with the coach and don't dictate to them.

It seems to me that for a lot of fans the "I'll trust Moore's decision on Carr" had the unspoken caveat of "as long as he decides to move on from Carr." They seem to be convincing themselves that Moore is being forced to keep Carr, that he's just keeping Carr for financial reasons, or the latest gem that Moore's just keeping Carr to avoid taking any heat if they have a losing season.

The only way that they can convince themselves that they actually trust Moore, while also avoid giving any reconsideration to their opinion of Carr, is to tell themselves that Moore is only settling for Carr or being forced to take him, even though Moore says he's excited to work with Carr and feels fortunate to have him.

Not so sure about first statement if Loomis told him it was just not financially feasible. That would be Loomis' call. As far as clearing that much to make all of those signings would likely require restructuring Carr completely which could be a disaster next year. Also, I think you are highly optimistic on some of those contracts, but hope you are right.
If in the big meeting KM would have said DC is not it I want to move on from him from the get go , 1 of 2 things would have happen. Either ML would have said ok , but it will be a tough season or 2 and that's what we would have done, or ML would have moved on to a different HC candidate. BUt from EVERY indication that's NOT what happen. CKM from EVERY report is excited to and wanted to work with DC

Yes, all of the Loomis haters think he sits on a throne and dictates to everyone in the organization what to wear and how to think. SMH
