Favorite and Least Favorite Video Game Genre?

One man's immersion is another man's annoyance and I'm annoyed by it and that it takes 30 minutes of immersion in their daily lives to get the next real part of the game

If you love that, great

I do not, and I never have. My sister loves RPGs (still does) and when were kids I would watch her play

Just not my thing
If you want to skip all that, you literally can. That was your sisters choice to speak with every NPC. And sometimes those NPCs gave you a side quest or even hidden items, so they weren't useless. They just gave the world character. But if you wanted to just go to the objective, there wasn't anything stopping anyone really. Most games didn't hide objectives from you. Imagine worlds like the Witcher or Skyrim without the fun optional side quests and characters. You'd have Starfield.

My favorite Genre has always been RPGs or MMORPGs. I am a fan of the fantasy stuff and started out with Ultima and Wizardry on my old Apple II back in the 80s. Did the RPG stuff on various consoles through the years. Played EQ and WoW back at the turn of the century. More recently Skyrim, BG3, some Harry Potter Game and a couple minor MMOs.

My least favorite Genre is First Person Shooters. I am not quick twitch enough to keep up with the kids these days and don't want to repeatedly get head-shot from across the map. Amusingly, the game I play the most is World of Tanks, which some may consider to be an FPS, but I see it more of a strategy game with some shooting involved.

Love me some platformers. I’m not opposed to realism but i can have just as much fun playing the original Nintendo or PlayStation. I don’t hate any specific genre, but I haven’t seen turn based pulled off too many times…perhaps a reason why BG3 is among my favorite games of all time. I’m also not a big Souls fan.
