Favorite Sopranos Scene? (2 Viewers)

Not a fan of endings that leave you to finish it up for them. I had a lot of time invested in the piece of crap show 😂. I'm still waiting on the Russian in the woods to show back up.
heh - fair enough.

I'll just say that I had the same thought as you when I finished the series, but after reading that encyclopedia, the ending at least made sense and was more cohesive.

Yeah...it makes more sense.....after they explain it to you. Initially I was like wtf was that? Haha

Having watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, I knew something controversial was coming because of all the talk over the last couple decades about the finale. ...And it still caught me off guard.

After reading that link it makes perfect sense but who wants to go look up an explanation after watching 85 hours of a series? Should've made more sense or been more obvious. Also....what about Paulie? Just kinda left him and Silvio hanging although Silvio not as much.

I watched it a couple months ago. Even though, I knew how it ended, I laughed my arse off at the ending. Really just like that. HA. But I understood the context.

My favorite scene was Bobby whooping Tony's arse.

That scene where they're trying to get that orthodox Jewish guy to agree to a divorce. They beat him up and threaten to kill him and he is still refusing, and he goes on about how tough the Jewish people are, and the Masada, how Jews fought to the last man against the Romans, etc. and say something like
"And where are the Romans now?"

Then Tony says: "You're looking at them."

Regarding the awfulness of the characters, that was definitely the point, and its a pretty common theme in literature, drama, etc.

Awful people are just more interesting. Go back and watch those 90s shows like Seinfeld and Friends and how shallow, self-centered and idiotic nearly everyone on those shows are.

In older times, it was common to show how these personality flaws led people to their own demise. But in modern times everything is laughed off as a joke. Well usually, sometimes if you watch closely, these characters do sort of "get whats coming to them"

My favorite scene was any scene with Adriana's body or Dr Melphi's legs. There were some amazingly hot women on that show.

Grab 6 Miller Lites, your bottle of bourbon, ice, and coke zero, and then read this (it's looooong), but has some really great thoughts about the ending.

great read.

i love the show, the ending was expected, but i'll never get behind the scene. its the execution, no pun, of how the scene plays out.

in my brain, the straight to black doesn't work well here. the show was shot in a traditional 3rd person. it isn't like malcolm in the middle. malcolm is the center of the show and we are ultimately a part of his perspective. he gets popped, screen goes to black, and show is done at the very moment.

for a 3rd person perspective and chase's answer. yes, tony is the main character of the story, sure, but it was always about the family and not only tony. the family could have all been wiped out, but that theory still wouldn't make it enjoyable.

i could ramble about the irony of how unimaginative it is.
