Fishman (Trautman) unhappy with his role this past year... Asked for a trade.(Merged) (1 Viewer)

Lol!!! That is a good point. In my defense that is the “you almost had it guy” dangling the 28-3 Lombardi over the Failclowns.
Oh, I"m totally down with it!! (do the kids still say that?)

We can't get a quality TE now. Until we get a really good TE we will not be a complete west coast offense. Hopefully Johnson is the guy.

Good luck to him, I’m not going to hate him for wanting more opportunities. Johnson took over as a receiving TE, so Trautman handled more run blocking and pass protection duties.

Still shoes to fill, as he played the third most snaps on offense among skill position players (only behind Kamara and Johnson).

Wonder if any tampering between I’m and Payton, he got exactly what he wanted.

Well, what was he suppose to say? I wanted to stay and I loved it there but they wouldn’t have me? I wish him the best.

Sadly he wasn’t all that good in his blocking skills either.

Yeah, I went to have a look at the snap counts and noticed that too.

I still hold the position that most of this talk about our TE group doesn't recognise how the team platoons the players.

It's not a matter of one TE strictly playing over the other, there's a lot of personnel groupings where it calls for one or other of the TEs and their skill sets to be deployed.

Most of the time it's the best blocker, Trautman in this case, just as Josh Hill took majority snaps for almost every year he played here, over and above the flashier 'receiving' TEs we might remember sharing time with him (Hill).

Meanwhile, the search for a true blocking/receiving player goes on. To be fair, there's more NFL teams than we might think doing the same with their platoons, too.
