For those that remember, what was your impression of Jeff George? (1 Viewer)

Takes more than just a cannon for an arm to be a great QB, i.e J.Shroeder, J.Russell, J. Cutler and quite a few other head cases

Not sure Cutler is in the same class as George. My Bears fan friends had little bad to say about the guy: the consensus was that while he's not a dynamic leader, he took a huge beating, and most of the blame, behind a porous OL for several years and didn't complain. The Bears had (and have) far worse problems.

From what I remember he didn't really work to get better. Even though he had a great arm his throwing motion was a little long and he wasn't very mobile and like other have said he was a head case.

I know it’s not true, but it seemed like he came out of retirement or got signed after the season started like 10 times.

I didn’t hear anything about him for a while then boom, signed by a new team, over and over.

Pros: Cannon for an arm. Tremendous upside and raw talent.
Cons: Headcase. Lazy. Undisciplined.

Seems like he was semi-successful with the Falcons but not for long from what I remember.

He looked to be in his mid 40s his entire career.

Rookie year, 42 years old...

I remember Jeff George and he was terrible. However, we always had a terrible Offensive Line. So it was common to see SAINTS quarterbacks running for their lives and throwing while on the speedy run, throwing the ball away.
